You best be careful. In WV and KY if you make a statement like that and someone calls your joke then you have to sell. My father-in-law had that happen to him. Gentleman came up to him in his driveway cleaning his customized van, around 6 months old. He jokingly asked my F-I-L what he would take for the van. My F-I-L just shot a number out of his head and the guy handed him 2 cashiers checks for the van. He told them the van wasn't for sale. Man said you gave a price and I accepted it and by law you have to sell it to me or I'll sue. Father In law called a lawyer next morning and he told him what happened and the lawyer said it was a verbal agreement and was valid. And he could sue him to force the sale for the price he quoted. Needless to say the next day the gentleman came by and picked up his van for $16,500.00 when my father in law had given $30,000.00 for it 6 months or so before when he bought it from a dealer. Be careful because someone might own one of your cars for the price you have offered if they want to.
