I'll be there representing San Antonio. I hope i'm not the only one.:doubt:

EDIT:
I'll only be there for the cruise on Saturday only. I will be heading back to San Antonio after the cruise, so hotel room is not needed.

The Hotel FINALLY called me back

they said their rate have gone up.

The new rate is around $139 a room

And Nov 12-13 is going to be a buys week with them almost fully booked.

if we decide to go another route as far where we stay, be sure to ask if they offer covered parking; that is what I liked best about the Raddison.

I'm looking for a decent covered parking Hotel on the River Walk. Any SA folks care to chime in to see what is good?

raven69david

Almost all of the major hotels have covered parking due to the limited space of downtown property. It's hard to find a hotel that doesn't have a covered parking area. You can check with the Hilton-Palacio Del Rio, Marriott and the Radisson to name a few.

Radisson: http://www.sanantonio.com/radisson/
Marriott: http://marriott.com/property/propertypage/SATDT
Hilton: http://www.virtualtourist.com/hotels/North_America/United_States_of_America/Texas/San_Antonio-880792/Hotels_and_Accommodations-San_Antonio-Hilton_Palacio_Del_Rio-BR-1.html
Hyatt Regency: http://travel.san-antonio-texas-hotels-discounts-reservations.com/hotels/hotelinfo.jsp?cid=56460&hotelID=106023&city=San%20Antonio&stateProvince=TX&US&type=GoogleAdWordsSearch&acctid=bsowder&adgroup=Hyatt+Regency+San+Antonio&kw=Hyatt+Regency+San+Antonio

FYI: San Antonio has some of the highest hotel rates in the nation.:thumbdwn:

Yeah, 2 weeks to go and no one has discussed any specifics..... When and how long is everyone going to be in Austin? Where will they be cruising? I'm just trying to get an idea of when I will have to be jetting out of work.....

Should we try to meet up at the HEB on 620 and 2222 around 1 or something on the 12th? Or do we want to try alittle later? From the pics it looked like that was where everyone met last time.....

raven69david

620 and 2222. From the pics it looked like that was where everyone met last time.....
Yep, that's where we met up. As far as plans we usually know at least 1 month in advance as to what the schedule is going to be so that all of us coming in from out of town can pick the proper times to leave from our respective cities. With 2 weeks to go it's not looking too good. :doubt: I think we're trying to change the meeting place due to hotel conflicts in Austin for that weekend.

ATX is pretty much not do-able unless we stay outside of the city due to the UT game, which would be kinda of pointless.

I did finally find a place is San Antonio for $119 a night + $10 for parking in the parking garage.

Its the Marriot Residence Inn
425 Bonham Street

Can anyone confirm if this is a good location? Decent for the riverwalk?

Who would be in with that option?

For the price of this hotel, I would rather pay the Raddissson price if that is available, imho.

I have searched SA for somewhere on the Riverwalk, also, but nothing is available unless you want to pay HIGH $$$.

Could December weekend after MSR be an option? Otherwise, I guess we need to wait for spring :( Maybe make the rsvps for next fall NOW beat out the UT football fans for the rooms :)

I am all for that. I will check the weekend after MSR for availability. The pricing everyone during UT games is outrageous.

The 06 Car show/ austin cruises/ track event will be anounced in the begining of 06 to keep this more organized next year.

Those were the Marriot chains that quoted the $120, that was their "Econo hotel" as the other two were close to $200.

If you need for me to get some pics or more details of the layout Edmond i can do it this week. I get out at 2:30pm everyday so i've got time to burn. I can do a little recon on the hotels you get some deals on ( deals? yeah right :o ). PM me if you need help.

FYI:

As a point of reference, anywhere close to Rivercenter Mall is a good place for quick access to the Riverwalk. The Riverwalk starts at the mall and most of the bars/restaurants are within walking distance from there.

Later is fine with Tammie and I. The 12th of November is actually our scheduled "Cruise Night" for Victoria Mustangs, the club we founded.

We don't do much on our cruise night, just a few of us (8-10) grabbing a bite to eat, cruising and hanging out. But, if any of ya'll want to head down south for our "Cruise Night", c'mon!!!! I think the hotel/motel prices are fairly cheap.

Just FYI, we will be having a Show and Shine on November 26th at Mac Haik Ford in Victoria. This will be a Mustang and Ford only event by invitation only due to limited space. We are still planning things, but we are looking at having some entertainment, food and other goodies. If anyone is interested, drop me a line.

If we wait until December it may be too cool to enjoy the outdoors. The trip to Vic may be an option in my opinion. I agree we should perhaps make reservations at least 6mos in advance. For example we should think about making reservations now for the spring cruise.

Well seeing as we cant ramp up enough interest for this before the end of the year, it might have to be postponed till fall.

We might stick to a mini cruise and plan MUCH better for the March cruise. Look for a planning thread for the March cruise.
