Tons of chances to become familiar with MSR-HOU. I better make an effort to do at least one TWS, and one or two MSR-Cresson.

In addition to those dates, TWS has several Motorsports Club DE's:

Jan 14-15
Feb 4-5
May 13-14
Nov 25-26
Dec 16-17

This year's rates I believe are $275 per weekend for 5-25 minute sessions per day. The February event is being co-sponsored by the Lone Star SHO Club and we have arranged a much reduced price for anyone who signs up with us. Details will follow after the holidays.

Sorry Matt, maiden voyage for the CMC car. I did find out why the AI car was making so much noise in the turns at MSRH, had a different offset on the rear wheels and they were eating themselves up on the inside fenderwell.

AI car is on standby in case the CMC car balks at the abuse, otherwise that "blue" beast will be up on jackstands for 2006 awaiting a buyer! :)

Yeah, bought a black SN95 for CMC. Was supposed to sell my AI car that weekend at MSRH, buyer decided to pass on it so now I got two hangar queens lol. I plan on doing the Drivers Edge event Jan 20-21 to give the new car a shakedown for the upcoming NASA TX season.

Mine was the MAXIMUM MOTORSPORTS new edge car....not that other manufacturer!!!;)

Yeah, a few low buch innovations but still need to figure out how to bypass the little brain box that controls all the accessories so my dang brake lights will work.

Well Mike, it appears I might end up in AIX given the weight and power of the new motor coming in. I spoke with VT today and it might ship tomorrow. Once that and the rest of my stuff arrives, I am taking a week off to finish the car and get the motor running and tuned. You certainly won't be able to pull me in the straights like before.;)

Hey Guys,

You should think about going to the Ford Shelby Mid-America event at Hallet on June 8th thru June 11th. Three days on the road course/or two days at Hallet and one day at the drag string in Tulsa. There is always a large car show on Sunday. There is also a exibition race on Friday at Hallett which is always fun.

June 10, 11 - TWS(Porsche club)Ive heard good things about NASA. The driving is a bit more aggresive, but lots of cool racing to watch in between. I might go just to watch if the $$ don't stretch.
TDE @TWS two old reliable stand bys.

LSR-PCA is good IF you want to drive your car in the 911 line, and you are not in a MINI. We got banned by them. If you go solo you would be ok, but their instructors insist on teaching you to drive your car like if it ws a 911. That is how a good Mini dude got hurt last year.

The guy got pretty hurt. He was coming out of TWS#7, and was told to track out (not a Mini thing there). I think this confused him some, and got two wheels off track, add a mistaken attempt to save it, and he went tumbling at 100+MPH. At y'all DE, a corner worker told me he saw the car clear the hill from where he was standing in the carusel. The car was very tore up from the very violent wreck. PCA decided to ban Minis, because they blamed an opened door for his injuries. The mechanic said the door and latch were fine, but the accident was so violent, the body flexed like an orange, allowing the door to open. He, who knows about tracking, said any car in that kinda of wreck would have had severe damage and caused injuries. Minis are tracked all around the world on a regular basis, so the charge is bogus, many Mini guys found plenty of evidence of 911s having the same problem in similarly violent wrecks, and a tendency to catch on fire. I think the guy running the show for lsr-pca was spooked by it and don't want to see it again. Kinda hard to blame him, it wouldn't be easy to live with that.

Actually the real reason they banned Mini's ( and I am a former Mini S Owner) is that in the event of a roll over the Air bags on the driver's and passanger Side deploy so Violently that they wedge the door open and then the door comes back in after the driver or passanger. These cars are safe as can be for their size but due to the Airbag deployment, they wedge the door open slightly.
this is why they banned the Mini's, their is talk about banning them completely, Except the fact that the insurance for events with Mini Coopers will be raised to cover the risk.
We traded the mini for the new Mustang partly for this reason.

I'm guessing these would have to be the seat airbags because the cars have frameless door windows like all bimmers. In that case I'm good, since I took out the seats for some snugger, and apparently safer Sparcos. :)
