View Full Version : Wheel Lash???

I just finished winterizing the Cobra. Now my attention turns to all the
winter projects I have planned on it. First I must figure out how much money
to spend on what. To do this I need help on one big question.

What causes wheel lash. That is, the rotational play between my rear
wheels and the drivetrain. I have had some lash over the past two years and
it seems to be getting worse. The Cobra has the exact same feel and sound
as my old car with worn out universal joints. In that instance, I could go
under the car and rotate the driveshaft alone. I can't find any play in my
Cobra driveshaft. What should I do or look for?

Currently running stock tranny with stock clutch. Stock rear end except for
FRPP 4.10 gears. The tranny fluid gets replaced every two years and the
car is in perfect working condition otherwise. Current mileage is 18k on my
2001 Cobra Coupe.
