I know there was a recent thread on brake pads but no one mentioned Ford Motorsport pads ( not Ford oem ). I am about to get a brake job done very soon and was wondering if anyone tried the Motorsports. They are approx 180.00 total for front and backs and Ford oem pads are about 400.00 total per T. Vaughn Ford.

I just looked in the Motorsport catalog... and it would appear they are sourced from Hawk...
Hawk link (http://www.hawkperformance.com/)
They are also described as "track pads"..."recommended for racing only"
I suspect they are either Hawk blacks or Hawk blues...
If they were Hawk HPS or HP+ I'd say go for it...

But full track pads on the street are not a good idea...
They don't stop cold...(dangerous)
And they are very hard on rotors...

The street Hawk pads are great though!!!
as are Porterfields... Porterfield link (http://www.porterfield-brakes.com/)

My rotors are looking thin and I just canít make up my mind on the ones I should get. Pads are another thing; I need something that will give a little better life to the rotors then the Hawk black pads I am running now. Cruising around and track days is all I do with the Cobra, so I would like to not change anything between street and track. Always something.
