I'm not sure if the 99/01 Cobras have the same radiator cover as the 03/04's but the data plates are made to go over the "smooth" part of the radiator cover. Maybe Ed can post a pic of where his is located on his 2001 Cobra?

Thanks for "scrunching" up that pic,Tony! As I said, I couldn't get it to post because of its size. Anyway, those of you who are getting one of these dataplates or already have one, keep in mind that they are for show only! Don't close the hood on it  or attempt to drive the car with it installed, otherwise it'll fly off into the who knows where!:D:rotf::eek: :flag:

Is it a magnet? Could you use some type of 3m tape to attache or is it not that sturdy?

Mr. Ed

Nope. Not a magnet. Plate is reasonably sturdy. It's aluminum embossed with the Club logo, your VIN#, build date, build#. If you car has a "pet name" this can be added as well. The last line on the plate is the car owner's name. It is attached to the car with velcro tape a.k.a. hook & loop. Hope this helps. This is the way my plate reads:

2001 Laser Red
SVT Mustang Cobra

VIN: 1FAFP46V71F226508
Build Date: May 31. 2001
Build Number: 1963 of 3384
Special Cobra Name: Wilbur
Owner Name: Mr. Ed Burwell

Hope this helps! :D :flag:

Hey Tony, Where can I find the actual build date at? All I can find is the 6935 of 7496 on the certificate. Also who do I make the check out to?

Kerry,

It's on your certificate...check it again. You can order the plates through the store at www.scmcstore.com, they are a good addition for your Cobra at Mustang shows. As with most SCMC merchandise, not many people out there have anything like them. :D

Tony,
Do I have to purchase them with a credit card or can I send a check to the scmc?

Thanks Kerry
