For a '96 Cobra 8-bolt flywheel, I calculate that there is a 15-pound difference between a stock flywheel and an aftermarket aluminum flywheel.

Does anyone happen to know what that translates to in terms of efficiency of the drivetrain and a measureable advantage of aluminum versus the stock flywheel? I'm guessing that fifteen pounds plus another 12-pound weight-savings with an FRPP aluminum drive shaft must translate to a solid improvement in drivetrain efficiency, or am I wrong in that regard?

thanks,

It will reduce the rotating mass for faster engine acceleration in race applications.
