What I thought was impressive was STAN hanging with Carl in the 700rwhp '03 and Larry in the Ford GT. Of course they BOTH would walk him in the straights....everytime they came around the carousel Stan would be right there on their rears. Most impressive Stan....most impressive.

Just goes to prove... It ain't all about horsepower on a road course. Heck, knowing what I know now... I would take a Fox body Mustang Coupe with about 300 RWHP and around 2700 pounds... with good suspension, and good brakes.

With a good driver behind the wheel, this nets a 1:54 lap time at TWS on the 2.9 course. Just ask John George!! :bounce:

by the way, ask Stan who is very first instructor was??? ;) Oh-Bee-One has taught you well my son!! :touche:

I was expecting that Stan would really shine once he got a set of sticky sneakers on that car... those Eagle F1s just can't do the car justice...

Way to go Stan!!! I'll bet that had to feel GREAT!!!
Are you still running a 3.27 gear??

I do need to thank you Andy for being my first instructor and showing me the fast line around TWS. I had an instructor for every other session and on the last day of the second session, he said I did around 2:05 to a 2:07. All I heared him say after a turn was, Yes, Yes. Leting me know I was right on my marks. Andy Thanks go out to you and we missed you, allot.

Thanks, coming from you that means allot, you old ice racer :D. Sticky tires ROCK. 3.27 gears and my instructor said if I make a change it would help getting out of the turns and up to speed faster.

Well, Larry?? WE'RE WAITING!! LOL. Seriously, Wayne is probably the best instructor for those of us in Mustang based vehicles, top 5 in any other car IMHO. If Larry had Wayne instructing him I bet the lap times came down dramatically!! Glad to hear you guys had some great fun at TWS!

It was great fun with the four SCMC'rs at the track. I think we all improved a lot that weekend. I know that I pushed harder this time than any other event. When we were on the track together it was good running with each other to push our car and skill levels. It was really fun watching Larry improve with each session with the GT. Having Wayne as an instructor helped the confidence level with Larry on each session. I know one thing you cant run the same line in a cobra trying to follow a GT. You will get in trouble in a hurry. Hey guys I just got an e-mail from Driver's Edge of a night event at TWS in August. I'm willing. You have to be solo approved to run this event.

WOW!!! I'll bet the local SCCA pro rally guys will want to do that one as well!!!

Is there much track lighting there??? Or is it just "watcha brung"???
I know we are only a month apart in age Carl... But I gotta tell you my night vision is no where near what it used to be.

A night event in August would probably NOT be an over heating event for those of us still on stock cooling(me)...

Sounds very interesting  A couple little adjustments to the headlights and fogs and I think it would be fine.
Bump the fogs up and out a bit(for the close in) and raise the headlamps up to shoot a little deeper,

I'm thinking about it :p
