Very cool pics... wish you could take me for a ride in that thing!

I know many people didn't know this but I was given the opportunity to be a pilot with the Navy. Sometimes I wish I had done it because I think it would have been fun and a big rush. On the flip side, I spoke with a guy that was one and he discouraged me from doing it. We told many a long stories about his experiences, I then left the idea at the table and went to college and began working in the transportation industry.

Sometimes I wish I had a gun like that on the front of my car for this Houston traffic. Great pics, stay safe.

I have nothing to do with A-10's except to call them up & say "If you guys aren't too busy, can you bomb the 100 mofo's coming over that hill trying to kill us? A little help here?"

I'm a ground pounder & if I had to do it over again, I would be a fighter pilot. If you still have the opportunity to fly for the Navy, I would HIGHLY encourage it. Get more than one opinion on something like that. No kid ever says that when they grow up, they want to be in sales, administration, real estate agent, etc... Follow your dreams. Seriously.

Less than a year ago, I was sitting in a cubicle, hating it & dying for Friday to come (on Monday morning). Now my job varies from being a VIP bodyguard to doing a hit / capture on Taliban & Al Queda terrorists. I make considerably less, but I love what I do.

Nice pics Nick....stay safe buddy!!!

Gotta love the Warthog.....aka Tankbuster!!! Purely a machine of chaos for the receiving end.

I've been trying to get a hold of my friend Cameron...the girl who flies the F-18E. She's on a carrier "somewhere" doing her tour. So if you run into a hot 5'-10" burnette with a beautiful smile tell her I said hello. ;)

Great pics Nick, brough back some old memories as a ex-ground pounder in the Marine's. The CH-47's if my memory serves me always was a welcome site after humping a 50# pack all day. It was nice to hitch a ride to the next location. We did not have humbies back then. You stay safe and if you need anything from home the group at SCMC will send you a care package. Let us know where to send it to. Hope we can share a beer soon when you get home.

i routinely jog up hills bigger than that, backwards, w/ a 100lb weight tied to each arm.

seriously though. i need one of those planes. You freaking crack me up man. The high altitude here is an ass kicker. We had to hike up this SMALL mountain to get a better view & I all had my was body armor with plates & a double basic load (12 mags, 4 grenades, etc...) anyway it took us almost an hour to get to the top & it was only a 1/2 mile hike. We were smoked pretty good when we got to the top. Here's a picture when I was halfway up the mountain & had to take a breather.

Anyway, there's a funny story to that day. Before we started our trek up the mountain we see this guy on a motorcycle in the horizon making a B-line straight for us. We didn't know what his intentions were so we had our weapons ready & spread out just in case he was a VBIED, but didn't want to portray a menacing posture because most of the locals are friendly & Pro-American.

We just stood there for about 5 minutes until he drove up. He didn't speak any English & we didn't have our terp with us. He came up to us & just smiled & wave. I said hi, gave him some Skittles & took a picture with him. After a few seconds of lookinng at each other, hewaved & took off in his little motorcycle until all we could see was a spec & dust trail in the horizon. That was it. After he took off, we all looked at each other & said WTF was that & continued up the mountain.

Here is a guy who comes out of nowhere in the middle of the desert on a motorcycle just to check out a group of heavily armed SF guys climbing up a mountain, hang out for about 30 seconds, get some Skittles, turned around & drove off into the horizon with a little dust trail following him. Funny little fella.
