I have a slight problem, I am 6' 6" and 255 lbs and I barely fit into my car. What aftermarket seats can I put into my Cobra that will:

Drop the overall seat height
Allow me to sit fairly straight up
Won't kill my butt and back
Get my legs fairly straight so I can shift easier
The car has beefed up Upper/Lower control arms, stiffen suspension (fairly harsh ride) and is a daily driver. I would like to run this in SCCA Solo II events but need to get a better seat and possibly a 4 point roll cage. With the factory seat, I wouldn't be able to use a cage as my head (and most of my body) is in the back seat.

Thanks,
Joe

You must have different seat rails than I have...a buddy of mine who is 6'7" sat in the driver's seat and his knees were in front of the steering wheel!

With the seat all the back, in the lowest position and the back reclined about 1/2 way, I can shift gears but if I bring my left leg up to put it flat on the floor, I hit the steering wheel.

Just made a 10 hour drive to Virginia for the holiday, wasn't too uncomfortable, just a little cramped.

One thing that is going to take getting used to though, everyone stopping by and asking about the Cobra, they didn't do that when I drove the Ford Probe :)

There used to be a mod that you can do in the how to section of the forum. I don't see it now. Basiclly you remove the front seat, disassemble the mounts, and redrill the mounting holes a couple inches back, and reassemble. It may help.

Hey unbolt the seat from the floor and flip the seat over and remove the seat bracket from the bottom of the seat.( 4 screws I believe) turn the seat bracket around so the actuall original front part will be facing toward the back seat and reinstall the 4 screws to secure it to the seat and reinstall seat to the floor. Trust me this creates about 6-8 extra inches. The seat was designed to go forward more for shorter people so when you turn the barcket around it go's back further for taller people. Let me know how it goes. btw Im 6'6 and my knees have plenty of room in my 98 now. Tony and Lisa know how tall I am:bounce: :rotf:
