Not a very good picture but.................Burned exhaust valves and melted combustion chamber face???

Bent exhaust valves? all that black crap looks like oil to me....rings and or valve guides???

Well here you can see the broken lifters from the left two cylinders:

the car, Land Rover Freelander, belongs to my girlfriend Jennifer. She bought the car used and since has had multiple problems with it overheating. The Freelander is known to overheat. After it was in the shops a few times for overheating where they replaced the head gasket it is believed to have broke the timing chain when she was over her warranty by 100 miles. Land Rover said she needed a new engine, which she had to pay for. The car is at another mechanic's shop getting a second opinion while Jennifer is seeking legal action against Land Rover.
