The ratio of gear for you to go with is really all about you and how high of RPMs that you are willing to deal with on a day to day basis. N/A Cobras tend to run well with 4.10's or higher. Here is a little info to show you the difference in RPM at with a 99 cobra w/ t45 transmission @ 55 mph in 5th gear with 245/45/17 tires(diameter: 25.681 inches):

3.27 gears: 1577.2 rpm
3.55 gears: 1712.2 rpm
3.73 gears: 1799.1 rpm
4.10 gears: 1977.5 rpm
4.30 gears: 2074.0 rpm
4.56 gears: 2199.4 rpm

Hope this helps. Also, the Ford Racing Gears are the best in my opinion. Especially if you have someone install them. Most places will warrenty FRPP gears.

I'm trying to decide between 4.10's and 4.30's. Could you tell me what rpm's I would be at at 70 mph with both gears? To respond to the original question, don't look for a hp or tq gain gears are just going to get you into your powerband faster. Also, you'll need to get something to adjust your speedo to compensate for the change. Thanks for the help and sorry for the hi-jack

at approx. 70mph my rpms are between 2400 to 2500 :burnout: :flash:
I sometimes wished I had went to a 4:30, maybe I am just use to the 4:10. but still, its a blast to have them.

ACTUALLY, I'm thinking of going back to 3.27 gears. I'll tell you why:

1) with the HP and Torque I'm producing it's IMPOSSIBLE to hook up in first or second gear with the 3.73's I'm currently running and IF I did the rear would come out of the car. This should actually help me run a quicker time in the 1/4 and not have such a "loose rear end" when on the road courses (by loose rear end I mean it's easy to kick out the back end with the hp and gears I'm running).

2) higher top end.

3) better gas milage cruising on the highway

If you're N/A, that'll be one of the best mods you'll do

Big D, I would suggest going to the 3.27's or 3.55's...3.55's will still give you great top end :D

Right!! just BELOW 200 in 5th gear! ;) :D

Seriously please quote me a set of 3.27 gears and installation. Plus what you would charge to change the gear on my chip so my speedo will be correct. THANKS!
