the guy that tuned my car said the 5.4 does not hold up well to being tweeked, I also think he said once the engine makes 575 HP it comes apart,
im just curious if anyone actualy has one and can speak from their own or near own experiance??? as we all know how these rumors fly,,,
rumors not only have wings but they have rocket packs as well.

At LEAST two Shelby GT500's have been tuned by Pro-Dyno here in Charlotte and both put down more than the 575 RWHP mark that the guy in Florida you talked to said was no good. I don't know how well they have held up or how much they are driven. I would say that the bottom end should be strong enough to take at least 600 to the wheels. I know that MANY '03/'04 Cobra's with stock bottom ends are holding at least 600 rwhp and some have alot more than that.

Maybe Dan from Pro-Dyno will chime in and let us know if he's heard how the GT500's he's tuned are holding up.

The same thing was said about the 03-04 cobra motors?? I'm sure your going to hear rumors all the time.

Anything is possible. The statement is a bit too generic based on 5.4L which could be referring to Lincolin Navagator, Ford F150,... etc.

A wise man once said "believe half of what you see and nothing of what you hear" :p

Evolution Performance out of PA has a GT500 in the nine's with "several" bolt-on's so I think we can pretty much put the kilbash on that rumor ;)
