It was great. The car ran well. I think Tony found out how well it would run ;) Don't think he wanted to find out that way. Gotta give him props though for holding on to it.

No major accidents except for an older vette getting into the tires in turn 1. No one hurt, just body damage. Good group, everyone followed the rules. Had a ton of fun riding in a Turbo SVO of Lisa and Clarence's. Nasty little beast with a helluva driver behind it. Lisa

Hope everyone gets back safely. Was good to see everyone since missing a year. Glad Larry and his wife made it also. Larry.........here's that link you wanted http://www.modularperformance.com/ That's where I got mine done. John is who I dealt with. He's the owner. Good guy all around.

Hope everyone has a great week. I'm off to nurse my sunburn and relax some muscles.

Thanks again Tony and everyone in the club that put it on.

Craig

The event was alot of fun. Much more organized than last year. Thanks for all that made it happen!!!

I still wish that I could have run with group B, ohh well. I had a good time anyways. I hated to cut my day short but brakes just couldn't hold out all weekend. Time for Brembos.

It was the smoothest event we had at this track since we started doing CMP. Jeff kept everything on schedule and I mean everything. The event packets were a great aid in people knowing what to do and when to do it.

The packets had the following in there and we're going to do the same thing at VIR:

1. Introduction
2. Event Schedule with times
3. Survey for participants
4. Student/Instructor Schedule
5. Car Number preassigned
6. Contact Information

Just a few more tweaks and it should be pretty much like clockwork. We'll add a couple of things but it was pretty close to being spot on!

I did get to drive Craig's car and could have driven Vernon's but he looked like he was having too much fun and I didn't want to heat it up while he was in between sessions. Don't plan on going sideways with the Shelby GT500 in the kink though.

Another big highlight was running down Larry and Janice Bolton and passing him, Tony Bailey, the GTI, and several other cars. I didn't have enough uumph in Craig's car to waste the Corvette though. All in all, a great weekend, best weather, fantastic instructors, great classroom instructor (Thanks Scott Whitehead, everyone loved your class and wanted more time with you! ), and willing students that wanted to learn more about their cars!

Eric,

I was watching you out there and you looked really good. Looked like you were handling the car very well. If we can do it, we'll bump you up to the next group with the rest of the SVT Cobras!

I'll have a full CD with photos coming in the next few days or so, but Ed Coon really did a top notch job.

From what I have heard you had to get in a WHITE Cobra to run Larry down!! Now are you finally willing to acknowledge that the fastest Cobras are the WHITE ones!!!:yup: If not then show up with the slow RED Cobra at VIR and be prepared to be schooled by a couple of WHITE Cobras (coupe and convertible.):shtowned: I will even let Jayne drive the convertible!!!:p

Let me quote you Mr McNutt..."it's not the car, it's the nut behind the wheel." Now why are you speaking out of both sides of your mouth?

The fact that the car was white had nothing to do with it...it was the nut behind the wheel. And since I am that nut (who went sideways at 115 mph through the kink), you have to give me credit for running Larry down and passing him.. :rotf:

And since he is viewing this thread as I am typing, I will give him a thumbs up for being such a good sport. I knew with Craig's car I could have caught Puzzle 13 and Burke and made them hide their faces, too. :D

White Cobras RULE! I thought Tony was giving everyone a drifting demonstration when he filled my rear view mirror with the side of Craig's car :rotf: . We are safely back home in Michigan where it is still Winter. We sure enjoyed the early Spring in South Carolina with SCMC friends old and new. Missed seeing you John. I wanted to see your "Just a GT" and razz you about those Hurricanes.

Glad you made it home safely. I almost pissed on myself when I could clearly see Tony sideways from over 100 yards away. I will give him one thing...he caught it....

One of the MINI guys here, and I'd like to sincerely thank Tony and Jeff and everyone else for inviting us and making us feel right at home. We did our best to stay out of everyone's way, learned a lot from Scott and got some great track time. We got to drool around a bunch of beautiful cars, and met some great folks. I'll always remember that panoramic view in my rearview of a GT500 coming around 14 sideways behind me. I thought he was just showing off and was going to pass me going backwards. :D

Hey, my wife wants her MINI back, when you get it out of your grill, I need to come pick it up! ;-)

How cool to see/hear all that great American Iron rumbling around the track, even if I was in this little bumble bee. The ride in my instructor's C4 was the the best. Everybody was friendly and fffaaassstt, at least compared to me, and the photographer even managed to make my MINI look fast in his photo!

The event was VERY well organized and we had a TON of track time.

I've got several pics, will post some now and over the next few days, as I get more loaded.

I heard the real reason that you didn't bring the red car was because you were scared after all the junk you talked last year. And when you were in the white car I never saw you in my rear view mirror!

All kidding aside ... the event was really good this year. Much more organized!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And it didn't hurt that I got to run for free! Thanks Parkway Ford, Tony, Jeff, and everyone else involved.

I didn't bring the red "Slowbra" because I already embarrassed your 500 hp Terminator Cobra vs. my 250 hp Slowbra. You would never hear the end of it and I figured I wanted to let you keep your ego inyact. :rotf:

The reason you never saw me in Craig's car was because I was in front of you, not behind you. If I had seen either you or Burke on the track, I'd have stayed in and kept gaining ground on ya. :) (This would have meant I lapped you all.)

It's all in good fun and a big "thanks" to you for making lunch both days. I think we can officially call you a "track dawg".

Photos coming soon....
