Well the day is finally here. It seems a life time when we registered. We leave today for Fort Stockton. David and Mike, Stan and myself will try and hit our times that we signed up for. We have newbe class room and time trials this week with the event held on Saturday. Will post up during the week. This should be a lot of fun and will do a video of the run on Saturday.

I just wanted to say THANK YOU CARL  , for such a great weekend. It was so cool of you to ask me to come along and hang out with y'all. I would not have been able to of experienced this once in a life time event with out your Awesome Generosity. You are a true friend and I am truly blest to have you as my friend. I just wish I could have repaid you with being a better navigator :retard: then I was when you really needed it most. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for being MY Friend.

Thank you,
Stan

Well we did the event and it was a great time. The car ran great and it was some intense moments on the curves at a 120-130 MPH. The only bad thing was I got DQ for driving to fast. That should come as no surprise to most of you. One of the best things was the instructors wanted to move David and I up to a higher class due to driving ability and cars performance. They were very impressed with what a cobra could do. David put on a show the final leg by passing five other cars. You had to be there to understand, but thanks David for making my afternoon, it helped alot.
The event was well organized with plenty of activities and social functions. Out of 150 cars, there had to be at least 120 corvettes. I plan to go back in October to run another event they put on. It was worth every penny spent and I cant wait for the next time. I only wish that more of the club could participate. It would be nice for more cobra's to mess with those corvettes. I plan to run in the 140 class next time, that way I want get DQ. Stan thanks for your comments but you helped me out when I needed it.

I'm really glad you guys had a great time and am equally glad you made it back safely.

I really want to/wish I could do this, but the Cobra's not the top priority right now. There are two other things I need to save my money for. :D

Glad all went well for all who went. Sounds like a good time for all. Too bad you went "TOO" fast Carl, I did not know that was possible when racing :). (except for safety concerns).
That is moving at those speeds.

If there had been a trophy for the fastest in your run group, you would have won.
27:14.120 @ 129.978
26:28.616 @ 133.701

I was wondering how the heck do you guys keep track of that without one of those expensive rally computers???

GPS???

I would love to do that but without a cage I'm sure I would be in a fairly slow group...

I would check the rules. You may be able to run in the 125/140 max
