well the time has come and ive made my mind up to ditch the irs.my plan is this.a built 8.8 where i can run 15x 10 weld pro stars.can this be done with a stock gt calipers or not?i know i need a new exhaust, 31 or 33 splines moser axels.what about the driveshaft?and also cant deside between posi auburn or detroit.i know what posi does but someone enlighten me on the other 2 as i dont have a clue.my goal is to have solid that can take track abuse but still be street friendly.and when i say abuse i mean 600 plus hp 4000 rpm launches the works without breaking:thumbsup:

Solid axle...

31/33 Moser or Strange Axles
Go with the Detroit Differential, I trashed by Auburn at one of the clubs dragday event.
15" wheels will work with the stock GT calipers and the ABS will plug/play with the stock ABS lines.
Upper and Lower Control Arms - Adjustable will be best that way you can get the car set-up perfect.
You'll need some springs, Mustang Bullit springs seem to be the majorities choice that I've seen.
For the driveshaft you'll need to get a stock Cobra pinion, it will replace the stock GT one that is on the solid axle.
You should also invest in either welding the axle tubes or getting a axle brace. (CHEperformance.com for the axle brace)
TA girdle cover, Ford racing 3.73 gears...get a rebuild kit for the axle housing if purchasing used.

1999-2004 housings are all the same
1986-1995 are 3/4 inch shorter on each side (a plus if you are going to run wide rear meats, but you will NOT have ABS for the rear)
Don't worry about Quad shocks (horizontal) You won't need them, and they get in the way of the wider tire/rim combo.

I believe that's everything, if you need any other info just ask. I can't think of anything else right now.
Good Luck

Yes you can run those, just make sure that you have a 6.5" backspacing for the rears. The ET Streets will be a 26 X 11.50R15 or 28 X 13.50R15 Just depends how low the car sets and gear. If you have a 3.73 or 4.10 gear I'd go with the 28" tall tire. This will give you more gear and allow you to be at the top of fourth gear going through the quarter mile traps instead of changing right into 5th.
