Desktop Support Position Opening Downtown Houston

We have another position available in my department as a Help Desk/Desktop Support Analyst. Below is the description of the job. Salary is TBD. Location is downtown in the 600 Travis Chase Building. Desktop Analyst
The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and possess a strong desire to learn new applications and technologies as well as be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
The incumbent will receive end-user requests and accurately record these requests in a problem tracking system, quickly identify calls that need escalation and route to the most appropriate technician, and apprise the user of the progress of the resolution at regular intervals.
This will include installing, upgrading, troubleshooting, and maintaining Microsoft Windows-based operating systems and application software. Specifically:
Procure, deploy, maintain, and provide support for all standard notebook and desktop hardware and software across local and remote locations
Assist users with printers, PDAs, mobile phones, and other peripherals
Develop and maintain appropriate documentation of processes and procedures to aid other IT staff members
Maintain and help develop the automated build process for installing new workstations
Work closely with desktop analysts in order to resolve tickets in a timely manner; identify trends and implement/suggest proactive measures
Participate in the on-call rotation of after-hours support
Perform after-hours maintenance as needed
Knowledge/Skill Requirements
Basic knowledge of computer hardware and software installations, upgrades, and troubleshooting
Intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Windows
Basic to intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Office
Excellent telephone communications skills
Individual must have the ability to multi-task, manage shifting priorities, and work in a rapid, constantly evolving environment with emphasis on quality and fast customer service
Education/Experience
Associates degree in technical discipline and/or 2 years technical experience
