Hi, I have a 99 Cobra and over the last 2-3 months, the Engine Coolant Indicator (at least according to my owners manual) lights up when I turn on my car. (not everytime though)

If I turn off the car, wait 5-10secs and restart, the light doesn't come on. Coolant levels are fine and so is engine temperature (I live in Canada!), so I cannot figure out what is wrong. I have been assuming it was just a silly glitch, but it keeps happening, so I am starting to worry.

My clutch is almost shot, but I cannot see how that would affect engone temperatures or the coolent fluid.

Any ideas?

Thanks!!

Most likely the low coolant sensor, they can get gunked up or go out and cause the light to come on.

You either have a bad sensor or your coolant level is lower than the sensor. I opt for number two...your coolant is too low. Add some coolant to it and forget about it for a while!
