There will be camping at the facility but you will have to pay a camping fee of $?? per night and it must be paid to the track.

Pete,

We have an agreement with them and Rick called them to get it this year. The price is what Rick shows in post number 1. Please make sure that you told them you are with the club and we have an agreed upon rate as stated above. If they continue to give you a problem, let Rick know and he'll give them a call.

Thanks,

To everyone organizing and attending this event, as of day 2, I have had a blast here at Gingerman Raceway. These folks are the most organized, enthusiastic, friendly and genuine bunch I have been to an event like this with. The track workers and emergency support help here in South Haven I thank as well as they appeared to be working to create a smooth event. The 'chamber of commerce' weather has also cooperated creating ideal conditions on and off the track. This is also an extremely addictive and very social type of event; I can think of no better lasting enjoyment to consider on any given weekend; or a mini vacation when the event is a bit of a drive.

Too many names to name, and I forgot most of them within the last hour anyway . . . I thank them (you-all).

My personal thank you to Peter Sienkeiwicz for the mechanical help, Mrs. John Sorenson for the ride into town, the McArdle family for use of their truck, Rick McNutt for the make shift toe straps and jump, and Larry Meyer for pick up and storage of my tire trailer.

It was another fantastic SCMC GingerMan event this past weekend. Thanks to all the SCMC members responsible for putting it all together including, but limited to, Tony Sorrentino and Rick McNutt.

A very special thanks to Peter Calvert for trailering my crippled cobra back home.

The weekend would not have been as much fun without all of you. See you all next year.

p.s. Peter's Corvette drives better than any Mustang I've ever been in! Hmmmm, how much do those cost???
Jeff, turn away now before it is too late. The Dark side is strong but you can resist!!! Enjoyed running with you. Hope to do it again soon.

I want to thank everyone for a great event. Tony, Rick, Jane and all the other people who consistently put on smooth running, safe events year after year. I had never run Gingerman but the people were absolutly great.

The old taxi cab finally had enough after five years of track duty and snapped the lower right ball joint stud while braking for turn one. I guess those C-6 brakes put a little more stress on stuff than the General Intended. Due to the efforts of many people we were able to get the car on a trailer, back to the pits and repair the ball joint before the end of the day. The car even drives straight, (well as much as it ever did with -2.00 neg camber)

My heartfelt thanks to the track safety personel, to Rick, Pete, and Daryl and especially to the two guys with the winch trailer. I apologize but I cannot recall your names. I owe all of you a beer or three. It was amazing the way people kept coming over to the car to volunteer help, tools, advice and with assistance from many we were able to get 'er done. It was a great week-end, super weather and a fun track. We will be back.

Low Voltage translates into No Spark which equals No Go.

Update on engine trouble at the track.

Finally tracked down an alternater, installed it and re-mounted a freshly charged battery. The cobra fired right up and held good voltage, but it still sounded hurt. I let it run for a few minutes but it didn't get any better or worse so I thought I'd try to nurse her home. Well we didn't even make it out of the parking lot. The engine sounded like a cement mixer full of metal parts just before she gasped her last breath. Looks like it's gonna need a flat bed to a garage.

It's probably just something simple and cheap, right? :twitchy:

Do you by any chance have underdrive pulleys?
Hopefully the balancer/pulley didn't shear the key and walk off the crank shaft, that can be very very bad on a mod motor.

I echo the comments on what a great group it was and what a wonderful job that was done in running the event! THANK YOU ALL.

In Larry's pictures there is the cuttiest puppy ever, with more time I would have dog napped it!

I need front brakes, good thing I didn't do Sunday AM on the track.

I'll post pics soon, I am on the road for work so I can buy more pads!

We had a really good time!!!!

Thank you Bruce Cameron!,

Gingerman was my first time at a track. Ever! I was talked into attending by some friends, and figured I would give it a whirl and chalk it up as an experience, good or bad. I had an absolute ball! Instead of my car collecting piles of dust as usual, I ended up driving like I've never driven before. That's the good part.

The bad part is that my mind has been working overtime since then as to what improvements or mods I need to do this again. I can already see the spare change flying out the door for car parts. In that case, damn you Bruce. You've created a monster.

Over the winter, I'll weld up another set of side pipes that are quieter so I can hear my instructor, whoever that might be. Or maybe just buy a good track car.

Thanks again Bruce, and to the others that put this on. I'm talking others into doing this for next year, even if I have to drag them.

You are very welcome. It was my pleasure! I'm glad you had a good time.

As you found out the SCMC track events are loaded with fun. There are also many fun people as well. SCMC is a great club.

Gingerman is a very good track to learn on although it is a tad on the technical side especially for first timers.

It's a fun addiction, isn't it?!

I didn't think you were driving fast enough to wear out brakes Rick. Next time, bring extra front and rear pads :baby:

The Sunday morning session was a blast, gave Snoopy a run for the money and when he noticed the photographer was snapping away, he made things pretty interesting.......enough so to buy a huge pic of him doing a 4 wheel slide out of turn 3 with me on his tail

Let's go drag racing Larry! There are lots of forms of fast!! Most of mine is in a straight line.

I had extra pads and would have needed them to do another session. I started to feel it in the pedal on the last run. No gas and no meat at the end of the last run. I am first to admit that Grandpa Rick is not the fastest on the track but he has lots of fun!

Would have loved to seen the slide, hopefully he'll post it. Thanks for the good time.

Our cars did not get to mix it up on the track last weekend. Looks like they'll get some shop time together.

That was quite a weekend. Even a bit of celebrity watching. Nice to see Kenny Brown out enjoying the track again, and thanks for the seminar. It was awesome to see Andy McDermid use our event to get ready to defend his 2007 SCCA National Runoffs AS championship. Don't we wish our track Mustangs ran like that? Enjoyed chatting with George Huisman (owner of Classic Design Concepts) while he was watching son Travis run some pretty good laps. It was as good a weekend as could be with my Cobra sidelined. At least you got to enjoy better than a full day on track, Jeff, before your Cobra joined mine at the shop.

Keep at it Jeff and let us know what you decide. So long as it's not your daily driver you have picked a good time for repairs. Mine just needs a new set of brake pads by next spring.

OK, I did focus on the group I hung with but did get a fair amount of pics. Thanks to Bill for taking pics while our group was on the track.

We had a lot of fun!

My Wiundy City friends do more events and are faster on the track ( maybe even just plain better drivers ) but they do not have any more fun than I do. Front pads are gone. Car is in the garage until I get new ones installed.

These cars are a blast!

As we all know, Rick McNutt is a pretty busy guy at an SCMC track event. I'd like to personally thank him for all of his hard work at these events. He does an awesome job. I try to bring plenty of barley treats for him as a partial payment for his efforts!

Thanks primarily to Jayne, we came up with a pretty appropriate nickname for Rick at the Gingerman event.

I was fortunate enough to get an appropriate photo at the event.

The nickname is simply "Rick McNutt, Man Whore"!
