Thank You For Your Help. Do You Have 4s or 6s? I can out run with the Zo6 boys in the straights, but have to brake much earlier then they do.

You can get the StopTech 4 piston setup which uses a thicker rotor than the Brembo Cobra R setup and still uses the 17" rims. I put them on my 03 Vert and there seems to be a big difference. I got a set of Hawk DTC-70 pads for the front for MSR Houston and we will see as they say this pad is great. I used them at VIR in June using a pad that wasn't rated high enough to see how hot the rotors got. They did really well especially with a pad rated to about 850 degrees and the rotors got up to 1200+ degrees. Brembo makes a set above the Cobra R setup that uses a thicker rotor, but can still use the stock 17" rims, but the cost is about $800 higher than the Stop Techs and the rotors are more expensive to replace by about $100.00 each. I guess it comes down to what you want in rotors ... ie - the thicker ones cost about $245 to replace with StopTech or $380.00 with Brembo. Compare that to a stock Brembo replacement at less than $100.00 each. The thicker rotors use aluminum hats. The StopTech calipers are much sturdier than the Brembo Cobra R setup and the heat capabilities are much better also. It is a huge difference. Brembo Cobra R's $1100 - $1500, StopTech's - $1995.00, Brembo Big Brake $2700 - $2800.

Thank You Puzzel! I will look at the stoptech specs. Do you remember what kit # you purchased and where you purchased them from?

Do you know anything about Wilwood brakes?

Do you know anything about Wilwood brakes? There are only 2 for the Mustang, one fits 17" rims, and the other needs 18" rims. I bought them from Maximum Motorsports and if you buy more than $2000.00 you can get a discount depending upon the amount you buy. I bought an extra set of rotors, but I don't think I will need them soon. I sort of looked into the Wilwood brakes ... good calipers, but I was told by some dedicated track instructors that their rotors weren't always that good.
