I'd love to come! Will anyone else be there with their kids though? I would be bringing a 3 year old boy and a 5 year old lil girl (both mustang heads like their parents).. I wouldn't want to show up and be the only person chasing after lil ones..

cobrabitn
12-29-2007, 02:15 AM
Bring your kids as I am sure you'll fit right in with the rest of us. Bring friends too because Pro-Dyno is paying for it...lol. Actually, Dan and I chatted a little about it this week and we hope to add a little more to it than just a dyno. Data Plates Plus will be sponsoring some awards but Dan has to decide what he wants to do as far as categories. The entry fee is free so no need to worry there, just come out and enjoy the day with fellow Mustang and Cobra owners.

I would like to come, and hopefully tune my new track tow. I am adding a cam and some heads, and will need to retune. If not, I would love to come down and hang out and meet some of you guys. Been a troll for a while, but now that I have a new Mustang track car, i want to get more active.

Guys,

We need some help with spreading the word about this event so if you can think of anyone who would be willing to maybe set up a vendor table to sell whatever, let them contact either Dan or myself. Let's see if we can fill that parking lot with over 100 Mustangs, Cobras, Fords, or anyone else who may be interested in coming out to the event.

See page 1, post 1 for updates on this event. There will be numerous people coming out to assist our members and their friends and guests. Just come on out and have a good time and enjoy the food fun, and friendship.

This link has been updated! Go to page one for the updates with more vendors added for the services they provide. Both Dent Wizard & Grand Design Mat will be there along with a guy who can restore blemishes on your car's interior.

Remember, the cost to attend is free along with the hot dogs and hamburgers and the live music.

Data Plates Plus will provide 5 awards, what we would like to know is what should the 5 be? (Long distance? Best Mach 1? Best Lightning? Best Cobra? Best Mustang? etc...) Just name 5 that you think would be good and Dan and I will decide which ones to do. We are just looking for suggestions for these awards. I haven't decided if they will be in glass or standard plaques?

Please list your 5 recommendations on this thread, thanks.

whats up guys i just heard about this site from someone on carolina rides and he told me about this event. i know this is a cobra club event but i attend the University of South Carolina and we have a car club and would like to know if it would be cool if we brought our whole club? and also price on pulls on the dyno? hope to see you guys around.

cobrabitn
01-29-2008, 12:51 AM
This is not just a Cobra Club event, it is for anyone who owns an American muscle car and wants to come out and meet some of the Cobra Club gang. So please, invite your whole club, invite any other Mustang or even F-body guys (Corvettes, too) to come out and enjoy a day of rest and relaxation with fellow automotive enthusiasts. Also, please spread the word that yes there will be lots of Cobras there but we want as many people that want to come out to come out and meet us. Besides...Dan is paying for it. :D

Price for dyno pulls is $50.00 for three pulls with air/fuel metering. If I am wrong then Dan or Rob can correct me.

Thanks!

P.S. We reserve the right to recruit all Cobra owners to our club, even you! :rotf:

How about

2)Best in Class Lightning
3)Best in Class Cobra/Shelby GT 500
4)Best in Class (like F-Bodies)
5)Highest RWHP

I don't want to say "non-Ford" so maybe "Best in Class" and give it to a different make? By just showing "Best in Class" it allows us flexibility in case no Lightnings show up... ;)

To Everyone Else:

We wanted to add a little more to it so we are going to have a "free" raffle. Our first prize will be some free Zaino from our UltraShield sponsor. Soooo if you know of anyone else who wants to donate some free stuff for us to "give away" then let us know. I know this is short notice but you know how it is, right? The raffle will be held at 2:00 p.m. but the party can last as long as you want. Sorry, we are not looking for "gift certificates", we want actual usable desirable products that everyone will use and enjoy. Everyone loves Zaino, right?

Therefore if you know of some vendors who would donate some products for the raffle then let us know. Please check first post for updates, thanks!

Metco will be donating a set of pulleys for a Terminator or Shelby GT 500. This is a $200.00 plus value which consists of a supercharger pulley, idler, and bracket.

Remember, there is no cost for this and everyone will get "one" raffle ticket for the prizes. We are not going to sell extra tickets and everyone will have an equal chance to win any of the prizes listed on the first page.

Please go back to the first page for updates, thanks!

Be sure to stop and thank our sponsors for this event. ;)

Please guide other people you know are coming to register on the forums and give us their information. Name, car type, year, etc... We don't want to buy enough food for 50 people and 150 show up. Help us help you...this is all free so please be sure to help us with accurate car and people count.

Thanks,

Tony

Screaming yellow 04-Dave's
Black Mamba-Alan's
01 Zinc Yellow convertable-mine

For people I have 3 adults and maybe 1-6 year old. That just coming with my car. I don't know how many Dave or Alan are bringing.

I should be good for 680ish, but Alan trumps that with 734. If Dave has his secret weapon he'll be good for over 750.

I sure wish I could be there, but a little too far for me to drive. Pro-Dyno done the tune on my car for the previous owner at Harris Racing in Charlotte, NC. Is anyone else familiar with this shop? I talked to Linda HArris on the phone about my car after I bought it, and she is a super nice lady.

I know I said Charlotte in my other post, but I call Concord, Charlotte as well. They are super nice people, and if I ever need anything done to my car, I will let them do it. From what I've read, the Pro-Dyno guys are the best too. So, if I ever do enough to my car to need another tune, they will be the ones to do it.

Sounds good. I know there are some coming from WS and Greensboro area as well. I will be coming from Statesville, maybe we can meet at off of exit 36 in Mooresville? How 0900 or 09:30 looking for everyone? Maybe meet at the Hootiers were we had the Cruise in last year? My number is 336-816-2358 if anyone wants to discuss it. Kevin, Mike, Chris and I did that in August when we went to Winston for the car show and it was alot of fun.

Sounds great Hollywood we can meet here at exit 36 on the ramp I guess and then we can swing down to Kevins exit and pick him up. Wonder what time would be best to get out there to get a good spot in the back. I was thinking for in the lines of 7-7:30 to get there early.
Does anyone know what time it is starting? I need to try and get there early because I need to sign up for Dan to put my car on the rollers to see what she does this time.

What will the rain out procedure be and how will those coming from out of town be notified if it is a rain out? I really don't want to drive over 2 hours to the shop to find out that it's been cancelled. Tony can you post on the website by 7:00 AM on Saturday saying if the event is happening or not? Oxinyourbox,

You are most welcome to come out to the dyno day as it is open to anyone that wants to come and enjoy the day with our club.

Greg,

The rain out procedure is that we will hold it on Saturday March 1, 2008. I'll post here on Saturday morning/Friday night and will let everyone know if we will go with the rain date. The chance of rain is 30% right now so it is still too early to tell about cancellation. We have a lot invested in this event, we want to have it if at all possible. Keep your fingers crossed! :)

I just joined here. I saw this on another forum. You shouldnt have to cancel cause of the 30% chance of rain. 30% is nothing and its only calling for a few showers supposedly...Im pretty sure the showers if any at all will be in the morning. Its just carrying over from friday night. So dont cancel if its wet out at 7am and then not rain the rest of the day. Everybody just keep an eye on the weather. Friday will rain but shouldnt ruin Sat. You know how the rains been since last year, they call for it and it never does.

Im sure alot of people are going to this. I might show up to check out some mustangs and I want to meet ol Magnum TA...LOL im sure he's an ol fart by now...LOL

It does show showers in the am but like you I just think people should just show up later if they don't want their car to get wet because they are supposed to blow off by late morning. As for me...I don't worry about the rain cause they have seen rain before. :D

Sweetness. I'll be there.

Will Hirst "Black" 95 T-Bird LX

It will be the first and last dyno run of the car since we replaced the engine, swapped intakes, and the drivetrain. 3 years ago it ran 12.67 but on MT DR and 110 octane with an aggressive tune so it will be interesting to see what the street program does.

cobrabitn
02-20-2008, 09:55 PM
We're going to give out 5 awards. One will be "highest horsepower" on the dyno and the others will be "Award of Excellence" for the 4 categories we discussed in this thread.

Best Mustang
Best SVT Cobra/Shelby
Best Lightning/F150/Truck
Best Other?? GM?? whatever is decided upon.

There is no entry fee and we're going to pick out the best car in those classes. The highest horsepower is pretty much self explanatory. These are glass awards and I'm donating them for the event of which I normally charge $60.00 per glass plaque. Most other places will charge $75.00 and up for this type of plaque. Look at the finished product below but it looks much better in person then pictures from my 10 year camera with a floppy disk in it.

If anyone is worried about having a dirty car there is a car wash semi-close to Pro-Dyno. After exiting at the Carrowinds exit and turning left under I-77...you would stay on hwy 21 south/Carrowinds Blvd and it's about 3 miles on the left. Sorry I don't know the name of it. You do go past a Red Rocket Fireworks store on the right, then another mile or so a Bloom Grocery store on the left and about another 1/2 mile is a gas station on left then the hand car wash facility about another 100 yards on the left. I'll be there around 9 - 930am washing mine!:D After your done get back on hwy 21 and go north and turn right at the last stop light before you get back to I-77. Has anyone posted a map to Pro-Dyno for those that don't know exactly how to get there?

PRO-DYNO ROCKS!

I would first ask everyone to please read post number one before you ask a question that has been already addressed.

If you plan to come and want to be listed then you have to give the required information on the first post. If you feel uncomfortable giving your name then just use your first name and NLN for "No Last Name". You have to give a car color, type, and model. Your help is appreciated and as you can see, the list has been updated. :)

There is no designated parking, park next to your friends and/or family. If you want to park together then come in together or save a spot for someone you know is coming, it doesn't really matter. This is an informal gathering so everyone can check out each other's rides, talk cars, or check out some of the local businesses that have come to set up shop. The purpose is to give you all an opportunity for a raffle prize, award, or just to get a hot dog or hamburger while you are socializing. You can also test your car on the dyno or see what others are putting down at the rear wheels.

If you are entering the show, you will have to register at the club's table that we will be setting up. You will have to have your hoods up but you do not have to have the trunk open or unlocked. Convertibles can have tops either up or down, it doesn't matter. We have to know who's car is whose and they will be numbered by class... A. Mustang B. SVT Cobra/Shelby C. Truck/Lightning and D. Any non Ford product.

Awards will be given out at 2:00 p.m. or there abouts along with the free raffle. Again, if you know anyone who can donate a product before Saturday then please bring it with you. I'm looking forward to meeting new people and having a great 2008 kickoff of the SCMC event season. I hope we can make this a traditional event for the club and friends.

Thanks,

Tony

If anyone cares and reads this in the morning, the name of the car wash is "Americas Finest" just past the "Times" Gas Station on the left. See previous post. Also, as of 1am this morning it is still misting a little and the roads are slightly damp, but they should dry up by 7am or so. It's supposed to be sunny by noon! See y'all at Pro-Dyno around 10am to get the grille fired up!:bounce:

It's 7am and the driveway looks semi-dry so I am going to take a chance and make a run for it this morning so she doesn't get wet  . See you guys there. Oh, and Mike I can help out some with the grilling if needed since I am a master chef, so the G/F says.

Had the popular cold and flu most of the week. Was hoping for improvement. Hasn't happened. Acute laryngitis as well. Don't care to "share" this with anyone except my co-workers who shared it with me! See ya'll another place, another time! Have fun! :flag:

Looks like it was good turn out with some nice looking cars.

What was the turnout and who got the awards?

All I got to do with mine today was wash it. :( Spent most of my time on my AIS class today and taking care of the kids and my wife who is very sick right now.

A members wife on here that has the white camaro one an award, I won an award, and wasn't there to the very end to see who won the highest HP. I know there were some 700-800 hp cars there easily. Weather was perfect come noon time.

Don't know that and don't know the winners. Actually I don't think the mag writter showed or was very incognito. JUST LIKE WHO WON THE AWARDS....KNOW ONE SEEMS TO WANT TO POST WHO WON THE AWARDS. INQUIRING MINDS WANT TO KNOW!

Maybe next time some of you can pitch in and help so we can get the results on the forums sooner. It's very difficult to run a show, man a trailer with merchandise, and coordinate an event.

Most Horsepower - David Moore 648 rwhp
Best Cobra - Chris Hull
Best Mustang - The Roush Owner
Best GM - April Sutphin
Best Truck - Steve Shrader
