So I'm going to bite the bullet. I've wanted a cobra for as long as I can remember. I think it is time I go after it.

I see enough '03-'04 cobra's to make me want one BAD.

I do plan on doing some track events for fun, won't be anything serious though. Maybe some time trials.

Just curious which Cobra you would think is the best for a daily driver and for some fun at the track. I see few 96-98's, some 99-01's (which are priced rather nicely), and many 03-04's. The issue I have with the 03-04's is that I don't know how ragged out they are. I guess it doesn't really matter since if I get an 03-04, then I plan on keeping it for years and years. It would be a daily driver until I saved up enough to get a little focus or ranger or something else to handle DD duties.

My friend says and '03-'04 cobra, because it has the power and all the goodies. Yet the 99-01 is priced right. The 96-98's are becoming hard to find. I still like the 93's, but I'm more of a 99+ fan (especially since it will need to be a DD for a while).

Input?
Most '03-'04's are going for 23k-30k
Most 99-01's are going from 10k-18k
and well I found an uber clean mystic cobra (98 if I recall) with only 1,200 miles for 23k.

Common sense says spend the extra $$$ and get the one I'd like most, '03-'04...but I need track opinions...since I have not even been to an official track as of yet.

Counting both model years... 03 and 04 there were over 19,000 Terminators sold.

Even though they are a lot more money than the earlier Cobras they are loaded with serious content.

As a result of the rather high production numbers there are going to be a lot of relatively stock well cared for cars out there.

There are tons of "cat-back and cold air" only cars.

If I was starting over I would still get an 03/04 Cobra.

Here is a great web site loaded with info about 03/04 Cobras.

Thanks!!! Got to represent the club!

There is one on both sides. The side showing is for people I give a point by TO.

The one on the other side is for people I get a point by FROM!

I believe you may have caught a glimps of that one once... ;) :grinangel

03-04 you won't regret it, I know most have owned both and they are worth the extra.

What, no love for the 94-95's??? Pushrod 5.0L with SN95 handling, all for a cheap price these days.

If I had to drive it on the street everyday I'd try and get the Terminator. Plenty of power for all sorts of situations and fun on the track. :D

Then it is settled. Once I get a potential buyer for my GT, I'm off to seek an '03-'04 Cobra.

Thanks everyone!

They are all over ebaymotors, check local mustang boards also. They are not hard to find IMHO, just hard to sort through the junk.

As stated above, if you got the jack I'd get the Terminator.

That is the hard part. Plus the car is going to be a DD, so I wouldn't want an older one...I favor the 99+. :)

If I was getting a toy, then I'd be all over anything '67-71 & '79+. :D
