Hey everyone, we are going to take a drive this Saturday up to Montgomery/Conroe area. The weather (right now) looks to be pretty good. Ill ask Grace to post the route and pizza place she has in mind tonight. If anyone would like to join in or suggest a route that would be great. The more people the more fun.

Howdy Folks!!!

I am thinking...
that we could meet at our Starbucks (1960 across from willowbrook mall) at noon then cruise down 249, 149 to 105. There is this great pizza place called Pizza Shack to eat lunch at. Then I thought it would be fun to cruise over the 1097 bridge into willis and take 2432 aka Willis Waukegan Rd to 1485, 242, 1488, 2978 back to 249. We are open to suggestions! If you know of more curvier dangerous roads that are along the way please let us know!

Just talked to the manager of Pizza Shack, it's not really a shack. I told him I pictured a rundown hole in the wall :D He laughed and said that's how they started out. Anyway, I reserved a table for 12. He said if we have more than 12 they can give us our own private room. I'm going to call him before we leave SB for the exact head count.

On the menu, they have over 90 items. Pizza, subs, variety of pasta, steaks, small salads, large salads w/shrimp or chicken and seafood. Seafood is blackened, fried or grilled. Buffet only on wed.

I'll post more later this evening.

Grace posted meeting at 12:00 so we would miss the lunch crowd.

I was thinking 10:30 or 11:00.

What works best between 10:30 and 12? We can narrow time down more this evening.

Gotta run

Maybe it's just as well there were no pics... although I know I never broke the the law once. :D That was a typo right Jim?

I had a blast! Great route, great company, great idea Patrick! Glad we could get together and do this.

Thanks to Thomas also (SICK BIKE BTW!!!).

It was a little gritty at times, + cold tires, blind drive ways and unfamiliar corners dictated semi-reserved driving.... but I know I had fun!

As a special added bonus... I only scared Gail twice! :D ;) :p
Needless to say she has a relatively high level of trust.

It was so cold my tires were stone silent even when they were giving up some grip! :D And no they weren't R compounds.

Very fun!!! That's exactly the kind of stuff I like to do with my car.

That ride was fun! I say thanks to all of you ;)
Thomas, thanks for the route. BTW you are crazy on that bike :D I have video of us coming out of the 15 mph turn, (the one that is L shaped) you can hear my car accelerating and see the curves and your bike just gets smaller and smaller and then you are gone.

I was pretty impressed with pizza shack, you might be able to get pizza on any street corner or grocery store. But that pizza had a good taste.

Thank you all so much for adding to the excitement on such a nice (really cold with the top down) day cruising. I know some people needed to get work off the mind for a day. I hope this drive did it. I know it worked for me. The drive through the National Forest was really nice and relaxing. But I will never forget the twisting, curving and I'm sure maybe even scenic road.

I have a few pictures, I will get them posted soon.

That is one of my favorite rides. It did get a little cold through the forest and really cold on 45.

Glad you guys enjoyed it!!

I am LOVING no snow here!
No lake effect burying our cars to the point where you can't even see them in the driveway here either.
