Has anyone been thinking about a hill country cruise and a night on 6th street in Austin. I would love to do another one but I think we should have a rain out date just in case. I would think late March or early April would be good.

Early April is being pursued at this time thanks to some late March plans. :)

End of March is the TWS Event, early April I'm going to Dallas to see Jack Roush. How about a mid to late April? Sounds like a nice cruise and it would give those at the TWS a chance to recover and get ready for a nice cruise.

What works best for everyone? End of April, or Sometime in May. I will call the lady back at the Hotel and see how bad the pricing is. That way we can discuss the options.

April sounds better, weather permitting. Last year it gave us a scare and turned out great! I know a good group waiting on word this year, and I'm ready for a third consecutive outing.

Definately a brilliant event, Thank You SCMC:thumbsup:.......

I think the first date that would be availble at this point at the Hotel would be May 10th.

The rates have gone through the roof for the Hotels in Austin.

Would $160-170 range be doable to stay at the Radisson we alway stay at for yall?

Please post if you are interested so we can move forward.

I'm interested in taking pics and riding shotgun. My car is allergic to the hill country and cursed to never return.

Well it is a nice hotel in the perfect location on Cezar Chavez, but thats $50 over the past two years? They do have Sleep Number beds.:p I'm sure you could talk them down if we had volume.

Eh, staying would be a plus, the cruise is the ultimate goal. I know at least 5 that would come to cruise, spend the day, and eat/hangout, but would be returning same day to Dallas, so hotel is not a priority. Myself, I'm staying on Travis, but I will pass the info along to the others.

And yes, it is a hell of a trip, well worth the price.;)

Is there another place we could stay, some different location. Do they have like a lakeside cabin or something. Popping a tent would be hard and carrying all the stuff in a Cobra would be the biggest challenge, but maybe a cabin or a "Keyma" style resort would be a fun thing.

There are plenty of cabins on Lake Travis open in May, and the prices are "negotiable". Otherwise a place in Austin isn't hard to come by, spontaneity is golden:burnout:

Part of the tradition for those that stay has alway been going down to 6th street.

The hotels in Austin have gone up in price in general.

I guess we need to get an idea of how many people are going and see what we can do.

I would be up for going depending on if we can get the price lowered a bit. It's a great weekend with great company.....and I haven't been in a few years.

If we stay outside the downtown area and save on hotel, perhaps some people can volunteer to drive and we can also consider a party bus!!

How about checking into hotels.com as you can always find a cheaper rate there...just need to know about how many rooms we'll need :)

Thanks for the input everyone. The search continues. As soon as we can find a hotel that everyone can live with, we can reschedule this thing back on track.
