he went to place in mooresville to have his pprv taken out, well they sold him some gt 40 pumps and didnt even upgrade the feed wire for the fpdm. Big no no. Also his fuel hand was stuck on full. So he asked me to fix it. Thought id share some pics of this craptastic job that was done.

These 3 pictures show the wrong hose
for removing pprv or just when
upgrading to gt40 pumps. sae30r9 is
NOT submersible sae30r10 is however. This line is so spongy now i could pinch it shut with my pinky finger and thumb. Definately not designed to be submerged in fuel.

Here you can see me removing hat with the hose plainly labeled

Here you can also see that they
re-used the stock plastic lines and
didnt even take time to put clamps on

This appears to be some sort of fuel
filter sock for a dirtbike or something
not exactly sure but notice the size
difference? The other one is stock
cobra sock, this itty bitty one is not.
This was placed on a pump that flows
more than the stock ones.

Here you can see that the shop that
performed this work broke both
retaining clips off, the white spots in
the center. These are used to hold
the fuel sock on the pumps.

heres some pics of the new fuel hat with everything assembled properly. We also went ahead and installed a dual fpdm setup to properly power and support the twin gt40 pumps. Also these have the right socks on them.

what really irks me about the whole situation is the guy was more than willing to spend the money for the right parts but these people told him this stuff would work and would take care of him. Lucky for him he told me about it.

they said "we run a thicker gauge wire to the fpdm to support the larger power requirement for the pumps"

they didnt run it

edit: oh and I fixed his fuel sending unit so it works properly

so he had pumps that pull an average of 13 amps a piece on stock wiring with 20 amp fuse
with incorrect hose that would turn to goo after extended submersion in gas. Even gates website says sae30r10 is only hose for submersion in gasoline.
No clamps on some of the fuel lines
and broken tabs on the fuel pumps
and also some sort of small fuel sock??? which is smaller than the stock one on higher flowing pumps
just glad he told me about it before it became a problem later down the road.

With dual fpdms on the spray his car hit 80% on duty cycle on the pumps with the new hat, 8an lines and dual fpdm's with big wiring to the hat, and 8ga feed wire from battery to the back. I would imagine on stock fpdm and stock setup that wouldve been in mid to high 90's resulting in BOOOOOM
