How do I get to it. My nephews 99 has the flaps you pull up to get the light out, but I don't think mine does. Been trying for days, just don't want to have to pull whole assembly to get to it.

The following is a passage from the Haynes Repair Manual: 1994-2003 Mustang:

For 1998 and earlier models (down to 1994 models):

1.) Detach the headlight trim cover [over the headlamp, between the radiator and the fender].

2.) Detach the side marker retaining nut(s), then pull the side marker light outward.

3.) Twist the bulb socket a quarter-turn counter-clockwise, then remove the bulb assembly from the housing.

4.) The defective bulb can be pulled straight out of the socket and replaced.

5.) Installation of the housing is the reverse of removal.
