I'm thinking of getting the Nitto NT01's for my car. Can I fit a 315 35 17 on stock rims? I heard that the Nitto's run a little smaller. I was only going to get the rear tires and use my stock tires on the front.

They are really too wide for the stock wheels to be safe imo, but people have done it. They are not as wide as others but it pulls them in at the wheel. I would not recommend doing it and would worry about bead problems pulling it in like that, not to mention how it would look to have the sidewall bulging out like that from the wheel to the tread.

Thanks for the info. I may go a little smaller.

I've got 315s on Replica '04 wheels with Summitomos. I put the MM IRS bolts on but they fit fine. However it can vary from one Cobra to another according to others and spacers may be needed. In my case I do not have spacers and they fit without problems and did not have any rubbing issues at VIR.

I'm also considering some et streets probably 275 40 17. I don't want to have any clearance issues or have to add spacers.

No need to settle for 275's. I just put a set of Nitto Extreme Performance on the back in a 285/40/17 and they look great.

are you planning on using open track tires on the street?the NT01's wont last long at all.I use them for my raceing and the 555's for DD.the 315's will fit fine on the stock rim but they do exceed the recommended width.that is the setup i used on my first 03

Not a daily driver. As soon as I get some rearend reinforcement and my 21# pulley tune, I will finally go to the track. I've been using the stock tires.

I had 315's on mine. you will need to use the MM upper smooth head bolt for clearance issues. The look from the rear of the car is worth it.

I wound up getting the Mickey Thompson ET Streets 275 40 17. There was a good deal on ebay for 190 each with free shipping. I had some pay pal money from selling my eaton and wanted to get them on ebay. I am very pleased with them. They really hook up. I can actually use second gear :D !! I didn't go all out in 1st because I still need an IRS brace, etc..

Here are some pictures of a 315 555R on my stock wheels.

And yes Nitto's run a little undersized like most Japanese tires when compared to BFG, Goodyear, Michelin, Pirelli, etc.

According to www.tirerack.com (http://www.tirerack.com/), the recommended rim width for that sized tire is 10.5-12.5". I run the exact tire you're looking in install and I have 10.5" rims. I am switching to Eagle F1 GS D3s this month, same size.
