OK, I have thought long and hard about doing this but it is something I need to do right now. I don't drive it that much at all and to make a car payment on a car that sits in the garage is something I cant do anymore. Oil is changed every 3,000 miles or 3 months (which ever comes first which is usually the 3 months) with mobil 1 synthetic. EDIT: Forgot to mention the drivers side window tint (believe it is just in the tint)has a skinny scratch going vertical that was caused by a small grain of sand getting on the window felt and when the window was rolled up it scratched it. Its about the length of the window but its not that bad trust me. I remember I did a write up on this on here but cant find it. Its not a big deal to me but just letting everyone know.
As for the mods on the car look below for them. This car has been babied by me and the previous owner. I bought the car with 4,800 miles and now has roughly 8,700 miles. I have some of the stock parts in the attic but not all. I have a reprint of the actual window sticker as well as the actual certificate. I have receipts for most of the mods done as well as other paperwork on the car. It will come with the 4 chrome stock rims and tires (5,000 miles on them).
This car is imaculate and is very well taken care of and have poured blood, sweat and tears into it over the last year. The exhaust is now polished to a chrome finish and I have compounded, polished, sealed and put 8 coats of wax on it which now has that deep wet look, just ask anyone who has seen this car in person. Every show I go to I get compliments on the car. Everytime I get home from a drive I wipe it down and put it in the garage. I have NEVER done a burnout in the car although I believe the previous owner has once or twice at the track. IT HAS NEVER SEEN RAIN its whole life so the underside is as clean as it was off the showroom floor. I may have forgotten something but feel free to contact me if you have any questions. I am asking $27,500.
Here are the mods:

ditto.

Hate to see you sale it and lose money on the sale in a down market and lose money again on buying another vehicle only to regret selling it later.

Be sure it is what you really want to do. Good luck.

Yes it is something that has to be done. We want a new family car that we can take on trip and just to give the G/F a new ride. I am willing to let my baby go so my G/F is in a better car.
I forgot to mention I am still going to be getting a mustang (possible as a partial trade), but will be a foxbody!!!! And will be paid off. Some time down the line I may get another one but right now it just isn't to be.:(

This is the cleanest Cobra I have ever seen. I would get rid of my G/F before I get rid of my car. :D . JK LOL. Good luck with the sale Chris.

Statistically speaking by the numbers, it would be easier to replace the girlfriend than an '04 Cobra. ;)

The only thing it needs is to be painted the correct shade of red (Redfire). Whoever buys it will get an exceptional Cobra.

Thanks everyone. I will definately miss it but I think it needs to be done. I am the one who came up with the idea to get rid of it, to get her/us a luxury car (old man syndrome). I want to be without a car payment for at least 6 months to pay some bills off. Don't worry though I will have a bad foxbody to replace it. :D

isn't the G35 the Infiniti version of the Nissan 350Z? Wouldn't that be the same as a Mustang? Good luck with the sale, hate to see you go, though.

Good luck with the sale, hate to see you go, though. All I know is the Infiniti is the higher end of Nissan and the G35 looks no where near like the 350Z. I am not turning into a import ricer, I just want a car that we can daily drive and take on trips. The G35 I was looking at is a sedan (4 door), V-6, but with some luxury. I am not set on the G35, I have looked at all types of makes and models of coupes and crossovers. I am letting her make the decision.

Hey Chris!

I kind of went through a "phase" with my '96 where I would not drive it if it looked like it might rain, if the streets were wet, if it was windy, etc...

A couple of weeks ago, after not driving it for a few weeks, I thought..."this is dumb, cars are made to be driven". So I started driving it and guess what...it got dirty. A Sunday wash job will right the dirt and it will look as good as it did before.

My '96 has a little different background than yours, as it was a daily driver for the first 10 years of its life before I got it.

Bottom line, I think you will be sorry you let this car go. Instead of making payments and not driving it, make payments and drive it! I guarantee you will not find another car for the same money that will put a smile on your face like this one does. Maybe an Audi RS4, but a new one is pushing $70k. Don't abuse her, but open her up, spin the tires, have a little fun!

The car is going to depreciate whether it is a garage queen or a daily driver. Drive it, enjoy it, and don't save it for the next guy. Maybe then in a few years, after it is paid off, you can say, "glad I kept it".

Bottom line is enjoy today, because you don't know what tomorrow will bring.

oh, they make a G35 sedan? Didn't know that. That G35 is actually based off the 350Z chassis. They have a two door coupe model, the only G35 I have ever seen. I wasn't implying any "ricer" bit, just asking a question.

Very good point, but I have already decided to let it go. I will not budge on the price that much, so if it doesn't sell with in the next month then I will lower the price some. I am very anal when it comes to cleanliness, so I could never have it as a dd. That plus the gas prices. I wish I could keep it but its something I need to do. I can't afford the cobra and another car payment. I am still getting a mustang that I can fix up whether it be an older cobra, a foxbody, or whatever else. I have limited funds for upgrades with the cobra so theres not much more I can do with the cobra. If I sold it, it would free up a payment for say about 6-8 months and that $600 month payment could go towards paying off some bills for those 6-8 months too. Who knows maybe a year or 2 from now I may end up getting another one. Hey Chris!

Went to go look at the Ford Edge, Chevy trilblazer, and the new 2009 Honda Accord yesterday and all those were very nice.

Take a good look at the Fusion. We have one and are very impressed with the car. It's a lot of luxury for a lot less money.

red04svtcobra

Fusion is to small, she wants a bigger sedan or crossover. Have it narrowed to to probably the Lexus IS250, Infiniti G35 or M35, Nissan Murano, or the Infiniti EX or FX35 crossover.
Thought I had the car sold yesterday, but the guy backed out.
