Anyone have any experience with Roto-Tech rotors on their ’99 or ’01 Cobra? Currently running the OEM rotors and pads and have had no problems (noise, vibration, dust), did do an all day open track event and they were fine, but now they don’t pass for open track events. Dealer quoted $900 if they use the Ford front pads, slight savings if they use Motorcraft pads.

Dealer quote - Ford Frt Rotors $200/each – told these are Cobra OEM rotors, Ford Front pads ($158), alternative is Motorcraft front pads ($101); and Ford rear pads ($180). Was told the rear rotors could be resurfaced, if not new ones are $128 each.
JEGS quote - Front Roto-Tech EP-54087 $ 97/each, Hawk HB11F.610 front pad kit $102, Hawk HB183F.585 rear pad kit $70. These are street pads, not interested in a track pad. Rotors are drilled and slotted, not sure of the OEM rotors.<O:p

Rather significant savings going with the Roto-Tech, any thoughts would be much appreciated.<O:p</O:p

You are being taken to the cleaners!

Go to Tire Rack and order some Brembo rotors which are Ford OEM parts.

Be sure to click the link below (scroll down) before you go there so the club will get credit but here is a direct link to the Brembo rotors:

Front Rotors = $69.00 each
Rear Rotors = $45.00 each

Pads and I recommend Carbotech which can be picked up in Mooresville, NC. www.carbotech.com and tell them you are a Cobra club member for your discount. They also have street pads...

Tire Rack has other pads you can purchase if you do not want the carbotechs. Tire Rack may not be the cheapest on these parts but they are competitive and they get them to you fast.

P.S. DO NOT get drilled rotors if you plan to run your car on the track. At worst, get slotted but the best is just a solid disc for open tracking.
