I need some rear guards or the plastic covering for the rear fenders. I tried the Ford approved ones, however the rears were worthless. I put the Mustang ones on the front and they are just fine. I don't want the Cobra to look like a hillbilly car, but the rear quarter is hard to keep from getting abused.

I tried the clear film but it was to hard to wash the car without disturbing the film. I could not find flaps that were designed for the Mustang that looked good so I picked up a basic generic set at the auto parts store that were a little bigger than I needed. I then went about cutting them down to size to make them look like they came that way. It takes some time to get them to the right size and straight using the bolts on the fender lip. I know it sounds bad to have mud flaps on the Mustang but if done right can look good, just don't over do it. You dont need much hanging down to protect the fender. I have had others ask where I found them.

Mustangs Unlimited has them. I almost ordered a set today to put on my car to go to car shows and them take them off when i get there. The ones they have are made for 03 - 04 Cobra and the slip on with J-flaps that can be adjusted. $34.95 for them is what is stopping me. Even though it would cost more for a repaint. Go to their website and look up mud guards and scroll down the list.

They are on the website. They had them made special for the 03 - 04's. I knew I looked everywhere when I first bought mine with no on carrying them. Then I found these about 2 years ago I got in a catalog at Bristol TN.

Here's the link.

As promised here are some pics and what I posted on another forum. I did not lit the Mustangs Unlimited mud guards so go from there. Thanks for reading.

Around here we have a lot of road debris. From strip mine workers pulling out on the roads after travelling many miles in the mud and rocks to the gravel trucks hauling stone back and forth to other ways it gets in the roads. There are times that you think you are driving on old time graveled roads. So since I put the new 10.5 wide Nittos on with the 1/4 inch spacers everyone has said I need to protect the paint.
So first off I check for mud guards and found the only place that makes 03 - 04 Cobra specific is Mustangs Unlimited. So I ordered a set and got them in Thursday and put them on my car. Here is a pic. I don't think they fit quite right and at close to $41.00, I think they should be a lot bigger.

So Friday night I sit down and decided to sketch me out a set and see what I could do. So I had some brand new tin in a roll and decided to cut me a set. Here's what the first set looks like. Forgive the shiney black paint it was all I had on the shelf to play with. I think flat black will look a lot better.

As you can see they looked to do a better job but my wife said there was still to much area not covered so I went and fixed another set. I did not paint these so they are in the creme color of the tin.

Well after I trial fitted these I felt the tops needed to be more in line with the crease or gap of the bumper and quarter panel and I have a third set drying now to see how they come out. I have the quick mounting already figured out and ready to go. I also have a builder/restorer buddy getting me some lexan to make some from my templates.
I know I am going to get a LOT OF HEAT, STATIC AND GRIEF over this but I thought I would see what my terminator brethern think. These will only be used for trips to shows and stuff and then taken off.
Clear bra is out of the question as I would have to travel 3 - 5 hours for an install shop. Thanks guys and gals.
