Driving my car i've noticed this pretty harsh vibration that comes up only between 4500 and 5000 rpm. It happens in every gear, no matter what speed, and even if I'm accelerating or just going at a consistent speed at that rpm.

Anybody have an idea of what this could be?

This is a shot in the dark, what about your ignition system wires, plugs, module unit, etc.

You have a balancing problem...you need to check the following but you should not drive the car till you check this first and foremost or you will be replacing an engine.

1. The Harmonic balancer!!!!

The rubber on these balancers are known to come out and when you have the rubber separate the two piece balancer, everything will go out of whack. I am willing to bet this is your problem, however, check these next..

2. Universal joints

3. Tire balancing or broken belt on the tire

4. Warped and/or damaged rim

5. Pinion bearings and seal, do you have a leak?

6. Improper indexing of the driveshaft, did you take it out for some reason?

Try checking those to see if any of them are the problem and report back.
