Well, the stock engine came out this weekend and my stock clutch is just about gone. I never did mind the stiffness of the pedal in the stock clutch, but I need some opinions on other clutches. I am building a naturally aspirated 4.6 for road racing track use only and it will not have the power the stock motor with the Whipple had. Ideas & opinions are welcomed greatly. Also ... what about aluminum flywheels? What about the ACT flywheel recommended for road racing.

Thanks for the help.

I vote for a McLeod RXT clutch with a McLeod flywheel.

I run a McLeod RST, but the RXT take abuse much better while staying just as livable.

Ended up getting Centerforce clutch and flywheel, but went with the LM series for racing.

The Cobra was never designed for the New York Tri State Area.
The Cobra was born to run ; not crawl in bumper to bumper traffic
for hours at at time.
At 23,000 miles I blew the factory clutch & melted the flywheel.
Since I have no where to run; I am looking for longevity.
I am thinking about a Ram Power Grip 98951 from Summit.
Ram aluminum flywheel 2540 or 2545.
As I am new; any advice is appreciated.
Thanks

ThanksIf your melting your factory flywheel you might want to consider going with a steel flywheel instead of an aluminum one. Besides steel flywheels are a little more streetable, and give you better lowend power.

A good street clutch for these cars is a Centerforce DF clutch.

Thanks again for the help.
I found 3 from Centerforce.
DFX 01148075: CERAMIC
DF 148075: ORGANIC/CARBON COMPOSITE
DF 800075: ORGANIC/CARBON COMPOSITE

CENTERFORCE STEEL FLYWHEELS:
700200
700205
Your opinion is appreciated.
Again this is about longevity in a 3 state parking lot.
If I run ; on The Sunrise/Montauk Highway, at 3am; the Cobra
promotes you from speeding to reckless driving in a few short seconds:
Insurance company Twilight Zone.
