Hi Gang,
I am a new member and just bought this 2003 convertible. Opening and closing the passenger door is a hassle as the door catches on the convertible top. My dealer told me that the feature that automatically rolled down the windows slightly when the doors opened didn't start until 2005. Can anyone confirm this (not that I don't trust a dealer)? And if so, is there a work-around for this.

The windows definitely don't go down automatically. I haven't noticed an issue with the window catching the door on mine.

It did start in 2005. I almost gagged when I first saw it. How much automation does a Mustang need?
Do you know if the top is original? Mine was replaced back in 2003, and while I don't have your problem, it's not exactly the same as the original.

Thanks for the replies. I'm pretty sure its the original top, but being the third owner I can't swear to it.

I never had any problem with mine. The only time there is any problem is when it is up on jack stands. I have noticed as my top get a little older there are some issues with the weatherstrip on the top, but still no problems. Mine only has 19,000 miles and has always been garaged and that does keep the top in better shape.

I have never had a problem with the doors & the top.
The windows do not move when I engage the motor to lower the top.
Is the dealer doing The Huckle-buckle or The Texas two step.

I had this exact same problem with my 01 vert. Turns out the door class had partially come unglued in the bracket causing it to go up a little higher when the window was up hitting the top. Dealer tried to reglue it in the bracket and it just was never right for long. ended up swapping the glass out for one out of another car that was not unglued. Problem solved, there is also a minor adjustment on the track where it stops the window from going any higher if yours are glued in properly maybe just adjusting the stop will take care of the issue.
