I need a beater like you guys. I'm looking for Ford, hopefully a Escort, Fox Body Mustang, Ranger or an F-150.

Yea, I just bought my beater, 93 Ford Escort GT with 137000 miles with a good body for 2K. There are some cheaper ones out there, but I bought from original owner with all records, so I opted to pay a little more. There is some crappy cars out there, just keep looking. I did a search on Autotraders.com and located the one I bought.
It sure keeps the Cobra clean.. even though it is great driving the Cobra every day. Now it is more of a treat.
Good luck.

Look in the paper like Jason did, or online if you wish. Good luck in finding a POS

Just wondering man?, how much are you looking to spend on said POS Beater??

I'm hoping to stay under $2k. I did look in the Autotrader and I didn't really find anything close that looked good. Do you have a lead, because if needed I could scare up some money for the right vehicle, maybe.

I drive a 90 bronco II with 170,000 miles, got it for $1,000 even.

The best places to find a good POS

1: Auctions (the types of cars you will find here are around $1,000 to $2,000 a typical $3,000 to $5,000 car from a Shepherd rip off lot. Find a good one and put about $100 in it for a tune up.)

2: Elderly people (Usually not abused)

3: Someone that you know buying a new car and get their trade in for a good price. As we all know dealers don't give you much.

Best Regards:
