Ok I am about to buy my old car back from the guy I sold it to a couple years ago, my question is does anyone think the value of the car is messed up by changing motors. I have a 92gt right now with about a 10,000 dollar motor ( including s-trim etc) in my car right now and am thinking of swapping the motors and then selling the gt. Any advice and opinions would be helpful.
Thanks

No, I do not think it will hurt the value since it is a 302 going back in. Now if you were to pass it off as a "concours correct" car then it would hurt the value. Build it like you want and enjoy the car.

If you do swap motors, then try and keep the original matching number motor. In 10 years a matching numbers car will be worth more than a non matching numbers car. Just check out the price of a numbers matching Mach 1, Shelby or even a GT of the 60's, way higher than a non numbers matching car.
That is what I plan on doing with my 94 Pace car, I have a block I am going to build a motor and pull the original and run the other motor and keep the original stored for furture value.
This is my opinion anyways.

Ford didn't keep track of any numbers on 93 Cobra motors. You can use any 93-95 5.0l short block and it will look as original as it gets.
