Out of curiosity I was wondering what engine oil people have been running in their Cobra's? I have been running Mobil 1 15-50 during the summer and 10-40 during the winter. What's everybody else using? Thanks

Jim

I am using Amsoil SERIES 2000 - SAE 0W-30 Synthetic Motor Oil. It was the highest rated oil with the highest engine protection I can find, its kind of an overkill, but oh well. I only put on 6K miles on my daily driver last year (live close to work) and the oil is rated for 1 year 35k miles, so I figure I will do filter changes every few thousand miles, and change oil twice a year or so. The 0W-30 is supposed to substitute for 5W-20, 5W-30 or 10W-30..

I am also using the Amsoil filter, but I might just switch back to the Motorcraft one since it is so highly rated (made by Purolator(sp?) )

here is a link to the oil

just a little FYI for anyone who was looking for this..

http://www.epa.gov/otaq/cert/dearmfr/ccd0112.pdf

thats the document that proves that Ford switched to 5w20 for EPA reasons, rather than performance, since 5w20 is known to cause engine wear dramatically over 5w30.

I will continue to use 0W30.
