Most small PC repair shops should be able to get some info off of the hard drive unless it is totally fried...

Hey - is anyone else having problems trying to use the 'quote' a message feature on this forum?

Congrats on the Dell computer. You got one of the best on the market. I have a Dell too and it has been pretty good to me the last three years. :)

Yep, me too. I've been very pleased with my Dell.

The funny thing is that a guy I work with got a Dell last year and has had nothing but problems. I guess it's just like cars. Sometimes you just get a lemon. The service people have less than helpful too.:(

I've bought two Compaq's one good one a piece of SH*T and then I bought my Dell and it's been great. Congrats on the new puter. IF you would like Shugg email me and you can send me your hard drive and I'll put it in one of my spare computers and see what data I can get off of it. OR if you don't mind waiting I can pick it up at VIR in Feb. :D

I have had this Dell since 98 with only a failed zip drive. All the other problems have been self inflicted by my fiddling with it. :(

Best thing I ever did to keep it running smoother and trouble free was to dump McAfee and install Norton.

oh yeah, the only way to get the computer you want it to build it yourself. i do have an ibm laptop that i like and don't have any problems with. of course, if i did, i would have a new one to replace it in about 5 min.
