I recently purchased a red 96 Cobra Convertible and have learned that it is one of approximately 326 of the red/black/black produced for that year, I am trying to find out if I can determine the sequence of this car in the total Cobras produced for 96, If so ,how, does the VIN give me this info?
I am also trying to find specifics on the car as far as ratings, reviews , sticker price new, available options for that year ,etc.
The car is a low mileage original and I want to do the best I can to collect, preserve and document it past to present. Any info or tips to find this info would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Laser Red, black top, black leather interior production was 362. SVT will provide you with with a replacement SVT Certificate which will show the production sequence number of the 2510 Cobra convertibles built in 1996, along with the build date. Call them at 1-800-FORDSVT. Few options available on Cobras as they were well equipped standard. Option package PEP 250A added leather seating surfaces, Mach 460 sound system, CD player, and anti-theft system.

If you know the original selling dealership, you will also be able to obtain a copy of the window sticker from SVT through the original dealer. Be prepared to be persistant as the dealership that sold my Cobra was very uncooperative. It took many phone calls, but I was finally rewarded with the window sticker for my 1997 Cobra. Base price for 1996 Cobra convertible was $27,580.00. Option PEP 250A would add $1,335.00; destination and delivery $525.00.
