View Full Version : Manifold swap

I have the "fix" intake from my original '99 motor (one of the parts that survived). I believe they had these manifolds sent to Extrude Hone to have them work their magic on them (I haven't taken mine off the engine yet to check). I was wondering your thoughts about the benefit of putting it on my '01 replacement motor.

Last weekend I was changing my spark plugs in my '99 vert and then I started cleaning next thing I know the TB is soaking and I am scrubbing the inlets to the Intake. I did notice that even thought mine has also had the fix from my view is was very rough inside the intake. Is it worth polishing the inside of the intake?

I don't know what kinda gains it would give you, but i'm sure it wouldn't hurt.

The lower manifold was the part that received the Extrude Hone process not the upper. I've not taken my TB off but you might not be able to see the lower through the opening.

On side note I've read that you are not supposed to use any cleaning fluids on the TB because of the anti corrosion coating Ford puts on it. Has anyone else heard that?
