When running at CMP John thought that he could smell some diff. fluid when I blew by him - LOL!! He suggested that I look into a diff. cooler. I just called Sean Hyland and they quoted about $2500 installed. I hope that's Canadian dollars and not US. Yikes!! I've got an email into WMS to see what they suggest. Anyone have any ideas?

Hi Peter! Hope you had a great time at CMP.

Check out these threads. You can do it so much cheaper than buyiing a kit from Sean or Kenny Brown.

Thanks Dean. I'll check them out.

CMP was really fun on Sunday. I've done a lot of suspension and brake mods recently and the car was great.

Hey Pete,

Those threads are excellent by the way! Same route I'm going with mine (in the shop now) and the cooler price will be around 450 or so (US:p) . I used a different cooler, and picked up some of the fittings used (but guaranteed!) to keep it low. When the guys at Delk get to the rear diff, they're going to call me and I'm going to get a lot of pictures of the whole install process. At that price, it's very cheap insurance for the rear...

Hi Steve:

I was going to send you a note and say thanks for your help. I got all of the parts installed and the car was great at CMP this past weekend. I had a ball!!

Thanks for the note on the diff. cooler. It certainly sounds like a wise investment from the other posts that I've been reading. Unfortunately I'll need to get someone to do this for me so I'll be into labor costs. Oh well.

Where did you get the cooler and pump?

Take care,

Peter

Pete,

Glad everything worked out! I wondered after reading this post if you had done that stuff yet or not. Good to hear!

The pump I picked up here:
http://racerpartswholesale.com/mocal1.htm

Call and talk to Brian, he's aware that there are a ton of Cobra owners lately that have been drying his stock on these pumps up.

The cooler I'm using is this:
http://www.tennesspeed.net/gallery/data/517/125cooler-med.jpg

I picked this up from http://www.mrracingequipment.com/usedparts.html . It's a 2x6x15 (I didn't measure, but I think it's more 3x6x15) Modine dry sump cooler, for 45 dollars. But a Long style cooler thru racerpartswholesale is what Mr. Groth uses, and will work just fine also.

fittings and line I picked up from www.musclemotorsports.com . They offer the fittings used, and if they're out of stock on some, the new fitting price is just as cheap as anyone else. Here's the summary:

pump: 179
cooler: 45
lines and fittings: (along with engine oil cooler line and fittings) 198 shipped

I didn't pick up the sender, or the relay for the pump, the guys at Delk have those laying around, and I'll just go with their stuff. I'm also installing a temp guage, with a LED light above it wired to the relay to let me know when the pump kicks on and off. I'll have the car back mid-April, and I can't friggin wait....HTH

Steve - thanks a lot. That's a big help. I'm taking the car to my mechanic tomorrow to check all of the fixes after CMP. We're going to discuss this diff. cooler topic and I'm now armed with lots of info.
