I have a '99 convertible and just completed a bunch of suspension and brake mods. along with new rear gears. It really depends on what you want to accomplish. I wanted better open track performance with all of my mods and I certainly got it as I found out at CMP last weekend.

I went with 3.73 gears which lowers your top end but gets you there faster.

I'm now pricing bigger wheels and tires, a new exhaust, and a differential cooler. That will likely be it for me when I get that done.

Thank you for your sugestion i mostly run 1/8 mile cause thats the only track i have around here so i was wanting to get my times lower and wondering if the 4.10s or 7.73s would help or just more bolt ons?

i have 4.10 in my 97, they didn't affect gas mileage too much, but feels like much more power.

And then don't forget the electronic speed calibrator (ex. Abbot). Speedo is electronic (no gears) and you must have a way of compensating for the different gear ratio.

See Sig for mods.

I also run 3.73s but I'll up date to 4.10s as soon as I get back from the desert.

Cost of gear change in IRS equipped Cobra may be closer to $1000 than $500. Depends on location and how much they have ot take loose and put back. If you've done other suspension mods, then cost may go up.

Don't expect to pay what the solid-axle guys tell you they spent.

350 was what my live axle in the 91 cost. 550 is what Delk is giving me with new bearings, gear and labor on tapping the pumpkin and cover for the diff cooler. Going to end up being a complete R&R...

Hey Ken,

We are doing ok over here. How is everthing down the land of the big PX?

Just moving along with the battle, but I should be back early MAY stay home for about 45 days and then move to Germany and smoke some Euro trash.

Take care and be good.

Things are going okay. If you're back by May 17th, you need to make the Drag Day in Jackson! I think I finally figured out what was up with my Snake, and may have a few surprises to dish out. ;)

Keep your eyes open and your head down and get home safe man! We're all rooting for you guys!

Thanks Man!

Well, I may be back the 1st week of May, but hard to know for sure. If I'm back you can count on me.

I'll have some JBA headers (from BadPony), 4.10 gears (up date my 3.73s) and a fully ported intake (done by yours truly)....looking for 330+RWHP and 12.6s NA full IRS!!!

We will see......

What was wrong with your car? Resolved? I hope so.

I, along with all my guys will keep our heads down and stay safe!

I'll see you on the 17th!

gears will be a definate plus, I will be having mine isnstalled in a couple of weeks, 4.10. for around 350. But it all depends where you go, have seen prices mostly around 550 for them to get installed. you might want to also think about the little things, shifter, pullies, ect.

I have a quote from Custom Performance in Concord, NC for the gears, labor and the electronic speed compensator for $800..
