There is a little sensor that inserts in the tube right behind the MAF assembly. I bought my car a few months ago and found that the previous owner had disconnected it and taped it off. I removed the tape and found that a fuse of some kind had been inserted into the sensor plug. I was wondering if anyone has done this and if so why? If no one has done this does anyone know why someone would do this? I'd like to know if it is a performance trick before i put it back together the right way.

Thanks,

Mike

It's a mod to trick the computer into thinking the air is cooler than it really is, advancing your timing a tad. Unfortunately the computer "learns" what's going on and eventually adjusts to normal operation.

Without anything in there you lose 3 degrees of timing.

ok, so the general census is to take the resistor out and plug it back in...will do.

thanks,
