View Full Version : Subframe connectors

OK folks. From what I have read here subframe connectors are a must especially for a vert. This car is my daily driver that may in the future see a little track time but nothing serious, however there is always the Tail of the Dragon to run when you live in east TN.

I would like to install connectors soon but I don't want to put in a set that will interfere with future changes if any. I have been looking around at Griggs, MM, KB, FRP, etc. and would like advice or feedback from others experience.

Should I go standard of full length?

Is one brand better than another?

The Ford Racing connectors for ~$69 seem to be a good deal and appear to be very similar to the MM standard connectors for $79. I cannot tell if the set for the 96-98 Cobra is weld in or bolt on. From what I have read weld in id the only way to go? I cannot find pictures of the Griggs products.

I have to agree with the MM full length. Global West makes some nice units as well.

MM full length. Period. When you look at the MM and KB side by side, somehow the name just doesn't make up for material...

KB on left, MM on right. Thank johnbasf for the pics, I've been using it in sermons across the net.

KB makes subframe connectors? I thought those were toothpicks John was using as a reference when he took that pic. ;)

Another vote for MM full length! :D

The small one on the left is the KB brace and the same as the MM "standard" length. They attach to the front and rear subframes and the seat bolts. Where they attach to the subframes you get about 2-3 inches of contact and weld area. With the MM full length, you get 8-12 inches of contact area (maybe more). MUCH STIFFER, much more contact area. They also have the cross bars that connect to the seat bolts. I have them on my car as well.

I have a set of the shorter ones for sale (brand new) (cheap).
