I'll be there for Saturday only with the new engine and newly revised suspension. It should be fun and actually competitive. Mark

I'll be there, however, I don't think I'll run AI.

I'm doing the school...

Does anyone have a video of Summit?

See ya in a couple of weeks.

I am looking forward to meeting everyone and watching the SpecE30 folks some. A friend of mine is dead set on racing SpecE30 next year and a couple of us from this area might be helping him build a car for it. Its probably going to be awhile before I can even think about getting on track with the AI folks, but I am going to get started with at least 2 schools later this year. In the mean time I want to come watch as many events as I can.

That thing is probably running better than 'the home' is now - that 10 hr trip thru the windy mountains and valleys of W.VA. on the way back from 'muddville' aka beaverun took it's toll on 'the home's' tired old 460...

I dont want to get to off subject but a deer tried to stuff itself into the front of my daily driver today. I can drive it around but if I start having any problems with it I am not going to have anyway to get up there. Well unless I want to make a long trip in a car with one seat and no radio.

Ah, come on Joel, that is John's AI speed secret. It is similar to Sylvester Staillone's humming in the movie Driven.

It relaxes you and you go faster, not sure if that is good if there are cops around though...

Dave:thumbsup:

Never been to Summit Point.....................how are the track facilities for camping if allowed, i.e. water, electricity, showers and the all important air for tires.

I've never camped there before, but there is air up there. :)
Gas, too. Cheap gas is about 10-15 min away. There are bathrooms with showers and I don't know if there's electricity for campers and stuff.

Great camping, nice grassy areas to camp for tents, bathrooms are well... let just say there is a secret to the bathrooms - one set is new and one set is very, very, very old - trust me - use the new ones!

Electricity is everywhere - you pick a pole, go up front pay $20 or $30 and when you return the lock on Sunday you get $10 back!

Bring a Mountain Bike - they have awesome trails where you can ride to see ANY part of the track...

Good stuff.........................I will check out the old restrooms at least once. I like to say I took a dump where some of the best did the same. I often go out to the old Augusta International Speedway to see where the great ones spent some quality time and up until a few years ago the track at Sebring had stalls where I swear Carol Shelby made a few deposits.

Part of the "experience" thing.............wait till you see the Senaca Lodge at the Glen, and think about what went on in those rooms back in the 50's and 60's.

Know what you mean about 'the experience'...

My grandparents used to own a cottage on one of the 'Finger Lakes' near The Glen - complete without running water and an outhouse... quite the experience... oyvay!!! :flush: da flies!!! da flies!!!

The bad news is we won't be at Summit. The new engine is almost ready, but since it won't have been tested before the race, I don't want to chance hurting it. We will be doing some testing before the Gingerman event and will for sure(crossing fingers) be there.
The good news is we found that the problem was not the motor. It was in fact the injectors. We did a leak down and it passed very well actually and that was when it was cold. The shop then tore it down and everything looked great including the hatching on the cylinders, and the bearings. We were fortunate that we didn't hurt anything. I'm glad I pulled it off course when it wouldn't run through the rev's instead of trying to push it to stay out. It saved a good motor so we can sell it to offset the new one which wasn't cheap. This also proves that a mod motor is a possibility for road racing. It was putting out 8-10 lbs of boost and it still didn't hurt it. We have about 4 hours of track time with that motor in the car. The new engine will put out more boost and be significantly stronger even so. As much as I'd like to blame the Ford engineers(Scott, Brian, Mark) the thing held together while even running a lean condition. What caused the injectors is still a mystery. I can only guess, but we'll do more research to find out why they got dirty so fast.
