Hey gang!!

Finally bought a 97 SVT Cobra and have done some serious mods.
First thing was the gears, then the supercharger, followed by exshaust system (BBK)
The motor is completely stock, no throttle bodies, porting, or even after market cams.
1st pass my 60ft was horrible but manged a 11.94 @ 121 mph
2nd pass I hooked a 1.74 and turned the clock at 11.76 @ 122.58mph
After that pass I packed it up and went home with a big smile on my face, but
I believe there is lots left for another day.

Damn, thats some good times:thumbsup:
Look forward to getting there myself :jawdrop:
How many miles on the engine? Mine has 41,000, with subframes, cc plates and springs coming this weekend.

The motor has 36000km on it...which is approx. 22000mi
the car is strong and pulls hard 3rd and 4th gear.
I have a SHM chip with 4.10 gears and a Vortech S Trim (3.60 pully),
these numbers were done on my drag radials 315/35/17...I am thinking
of trying my M/T 28x10.5 slicks next time out. But first I need to put on some
frame connectors. I think the 28 tall tire is going to hurt my gear, but
at least I can lauch the car harder!!

SSSnake what spring are you going with?
I used the Eibach Pro kit 1"1/2 lowering spring
How much boost are you seeing?
Ever tested the car at the track?

Great times there. I'm shooting for something similar myself. :) On BFG drag radials (315/35's). No dyno #'s yet, and not track time either :(.

I'm going with the Eibach Pro kit also.
I'm am seeing around 7-8 boost.
I have never been to the track, not one close by, but I wanted to do some suspension work before I go.
Just have 275-40's on the back for now.

I find the 315 drag radials are good tires, unfortunately there is not enough side wall to make the tire wrinkle with such a low profile. Around 18 to 22psi air pressure really makes a difference. But if the track is prepped properly they work really well.
What exactly is done to your car Smashedheadcat? What do you expect for dyno #'s?

I'll play with the tire pressure, but my ultimate goal is to get into the 11's in street trim. No tire swaps. I know the sidewall isn't the best, but there's plenty of rubber sitting on the ground with these hogs. :D

My mods: True Blue shortblock, cleaned up heads, Vortech V2 SQ w/aftercooler, 3.33 pulley, 42lb injectors, morpheus powerpipe, 95mm PRO-M MAF, 4:1 FMU, bbk long tubes, bbk off road H-pipe, borla side exhaust, tremec trans, Brother's stage 4 clutch, *cough* stock gears *cough* :D and a UPR air filter and Autologic chip soon to be tuned by Randy Haywood. 4.30 gears and a six point cage on the wish list. :) I'd like reliable numbers over 450rwhp, and would like 400 rwtq. Shooting for over 500rwhp and 400 rwtq, but I don't think I'll see that.

WOW!! that is a pretty awesome setup. That car should rock. I see around 480 to 500HP no problem.
One thing I find with these cars in that the torque is pretty low, but lots of jam on the top end.
How do you like the autologic chip? Also if you plan on running drag radials try and launch the car around 4000 to 4500rpm it really likes it. Plus you have the added weight for being conv. Best of luck!

I just don't think it's possible to come off the line anywhere close to 4500 rpms. I think I could slip the clutch a little leaving at about 3200-3300. I can get a few pounds of boost with the IMRC's open right there. If I can slip the clutch to hold the rpms above that with a little traction, I should get a decent 60'. Then it's all up to the car from there. I won't powershift this thing, so i'll be leaving a little on the table there, but I'd rather keep the driveline in tact for a while. The autologic chip isn't on my car yet, not til the 14th. Then it'll be able to see some high revving, high boost pulls. Dang am I getting anxious.

Funny thing...when I left at 3300rpm the 60ft was poor, but when i left at 4000rpm the car was animal:D the tires were spinning but grabbing at the same time, I wanted to take another pass but I don't like man handling this machine to much. I don't want to break any parts or put to much wear on the motor. This is my weekend warrior and i have to be good to her:bounce:
Anxiety gets the best of us, especially going to the track itching for that #

Believe me, I'll take your advice and try every launch technique I can think of, but the way this beast pulls, I just couldn't see it hooking at that high of an rpm. I'll try it though.

I will be getting there soon.
