Does anyone have an AI legal car that would be available for rental during the Summit Point race?

It will be driven gingerly with just enough speed not to be last. The race does not need to be won, only finished for the points.

If you have any leads let me know.

Hmmm, I have a slightly used AI car that will be just sitting collecting dust. ;) The motor might need a few adjustments though.

You should have asked Dave Diehl. He was at Gingerman on Thursday with the old motorola cup car. I don't know if he would be willing to rent it out or not though.

Would that be legal for AI or AIX?

Dean, do you have Dave's number? If so, please call me at 313-283-6498 to talk about it.

What did you find out about your motor? Was it terminal? Was it bearings? Give me a call, I'll be driving to Kentucky till Midnight.

Don, if it's AI legal, it's AIX legal...I don't care as long as it's legal to race. It doesn't need to be competitive, just needs to score me some points. Thanks

The motor has been massaged quite a bit so it would be AIX.

I would offer you the new car...but one problem, I just tore the rear end out of it this morning to replace my wheel studs and change the rear gear....not sure if I'll have it back together in time. There are still a few other items I need to hash out to make it AIX legal.

You mean you cant get the engine turned around by then? A few all nighters, some friends, a case or two of beer and anything is possible.:D

True - mod motors ARE reliable - as long as you keep the HP under 300...

I won't comment here till I have proven otherwise. Besides, you can't blame Ford, you have to blame the engineers building them. Right Brian, Mark, and Scott.:D Of course I guess you can't blame them for the engines blowing when your putting a supercharger on them, and running twice the power they were designed for though. Silly me.
How is the car hunt coming Brian?

It was a very long weekend, went to KY and came back with a motor. The 'new' motor is in the car but not running yet. I had some great help on Sunday from 8 am to 6pm from Scott and another friend.

Should get the motor running tonight if Mark ever shows up....

See everyone at summit.

Dave, you need to hurry and get the rear end in the car in case I don't get mine running as we may have some issues.....thanks.

Is this one of those famous KY motors found hanging from large Oak trees?

:D

if it is a KY motor - shouldn't it just 'slide' right in?

(sorry, couldn't resist!) :spanked:

One would think that, but this motor was a real b*tch to put in. I may just put a 4 cylinder in.

Yeah....maybe you need to saw off that crank pulley to give yourself more room to get it in....
