View Full Version : Densecharger Intake?

I have been reading reviews of intake applications for my 96 cobra. So far the bang for the buck seems to be this densecharger. I like the setup of the fender wall intake (no metal) and the hidden filter. Anyone used this product or would recommend others? Thanx for any feedback possible.

Go with the C&L 80mm mass air kit by C&L PERFORMANCE, IT'S the best one with the least set-up. You don't have to go through the fender wall, plus there is no actual proof that going through the fender wall produces more hp. C&L tested their product against the fender wall products and C&L ENDED up showing more hp. I have the C&L ON MY 99 COBRA and it runs and sounds great. I HAVE 302RWHP AND 293 RWT, AFTER CRANK PULLEY IT WILL BE 312RWHP AND 303RWT. I'm getting used to the horsepower and now I WANT MORE. I think I'm going to get the heads and intakes ported and turn the cams a little bit. Should give me between 375-400 @ the wheel, no supercharger, naturally aspirated and cheaper. Good luck.

I'm going to have to agree with steve, I previously had the densecharger on my 99, being that it was inexpensive, I believe at the time it was $100 for the kit and it came with NGK spark plugs as well. I now have a C&L 80mm MAF and I must say that I immediately "felt" an increase in power. If I were you, I would spend the extra bucks and get the C&L meter.

Just the MAF kit (filter and 80mm housing) is 280 dollars?? I would still need the inlet pipe to the throttle body and that is 149. Total of 429 plus tax. Is that even worth it when i can spend less than 200 on K&N or Densecharger kit?? would the cast aluminum conduct more heat than plastic?? I am very confused on why the C&L intake is so expensive, my goal is to hit 400hp nonaspirated, is buying the best products goin to make a big difference? Thanx for all the feedback and any more suggest you might have.

I don't know where you got $420.00 from. the C&L 80mm mass air kit is $300.00 for your car. YOU DON'T need an inlet pipe, just use the stock one, it's perfectly fine. Call Brothers performance warehouse @ 800-486-2681 or look them up @ www.brothersperformance.com., they have the kit, that's where I GOT IT FROM. GOOD LUCK.

I bought the WMS Racing CAI (fenderwell to TB). With the addition of it I run consistent 13.1@107 vs my 13.3@105 without. I HIGHLY recommend this piece.
My buddy bought the densecharger for his 03 GT and didnt notice a thing. SOTP or Track times.
