So after our talk at starbucks, and with the car show close at hand, I thought I would start a thread on waxing, pollish, detail kits to prepare. My car has never been waxed and is showing some decent swirl marks.

Who would like to recommend brands and kits for detailing?
I am interested in a complete kit for smoothing, pollishing, swirlmark removal and waxing, as well as any application pads or towels required.

Purhaps any little tricks for easy use or best results as well.

there is what you need... period...

http://www.zainostore.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=TIPS&Store_Code=Z <=== tips and tricks

You start out by using Dawn to strip the car of all other waxes, then you clay bar, wash the car again, and start the polishing process... and you can re apply it over and over

just read the different tips and tricks, and you will get a good feel for it...

I agree. Zaino all the way. Easy to use with great results. Simple green to clean the engine and Tuff Stuff for any interior stains (not that I have any).

Now, who has a 10 car garage that wants to throw a Zaino party on the saturday before the show? Larry? :D

Actually, on that saturday I plan to give my car a thorough cleaning, clay barring and waxing.

Another vote for Zaino...I detailed my friends black 97 Cobra a while back with all the Zaino products and his swirl marks went away. It's well worth the price. :thumbsup:

OK

What should you use to wash your car?
Spong, microfiber, cotton mit, soft "cat hair" mit

What car wash soap is good for keeping the wax on?

good recommendation on towels http://www.zainostore.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=TOWELS&Store_Code=Z

I use the absorber to wash the car... yes you heard me right, I used the drying absorber to wash with.

as far as what to wash with after putting on zaino, either use the Zaino car wash, or Meguir's soft car wash (its pink)
