I will say it for you Edmond, "I told you so.":p Jerry from Inject Tech/Super Chips is the best in the country at tuning Fords. He tamed the "Beast" as well as making it stronger:D  It was worth the trip to Beaumont to have the cars tuned. The hp/tq and a/f graphs are beautiful. I will compare my graghs to anyone else out there. I am not sure wich car I am more impressed with, the slo'3 being tamed bbut stronger or the R being made a lot stronger with a smooth curve that does not drop off much after peak hp/tq. Both cars pull through out the entire rpm range with out drop off:thumbsup:   :D :D :D :D :D :wildguy: :wildguy: :burnout: :flash: :hail: :flag:

Hey don't blame me.... David made me do it!!

Larry, thanks for saying "I told you sooo" to yourself for me :rotf:

I just can't believe how much the R picked up from the tune. And its pretty much stock besides the cat-back..:bounce:

Congrats on the tq/hp increases.

The big performance improvements on the R is intriguing considering it is a factory performance car Jerry really knows his stuff.

Were there other N/A Cobras at the tuning session? I have wondered what % increase could be gained with on a N/A Cobra with the usual bolt-ons (CAI, pulleys, X-pipe).

How did you find out about the session? Do you know if they are going to be back in the area anytime soon?

Thanks - Al

Well guys I bought the SCT software and burner and I'm trying to learn the software now. I'm hoping to get a session with Jerry so I can get a perfect tune like I've heard of from so many others! Congrats on getting the "Snakes" dialed in! :bounce:

Al, they are doing another one pretty soon in Beaumont, and one in Austin in the near future.

There was a 96 Cobra there, but saw minimal to no gains, but I don't know what he exactly done to the car. gains aside, I think Jerry can still tune other things like overall power curve, power up top, and a flat a/f. The most impressive thing on Larry 03 is that Jerry not only beat the Strictly performance/Diablo chip peak hp/tq torque tune, he also fixed the surging of the car, drivability, and throttle response. All of which took 3 pulls (there was a 4th pull after a normal cool down to get final #'s) to tune and thing that the diablo chip hadn't even come close to addressing.

The most impressive part of this was there was no chip involved (you could get a chip done if you preffered) but jerry actually flashed the PCM itself for the tunning. He used a laptop and a diagnostic looking PC to do the work. The real time readout he was getting were phenominal, and it took him second between pulls to tune the car..he really made it look too easy, and impressed all of us

so what were the final numbers???

Larry can do the honors, since they are his cars... If I get a chance, I will upload some pics and the pic of the dyno sheet.

couple of things to note however. They did a baselince with how the car came to them, then they tuned it. For the sake of consistancy, the baseline numbers should be used for a reference instead of the numbers that Strictly got in sub 50 degree weather with a iced down engine. This means just cause the final numbers aren't as high as what Strictly got with the car, doesn't mean they aren't better, because they beat the baselince they did when the car rolled into the shop.

Also, they did not have a weatherstation. So the parameters were manually set, and from what I could tell, the dyno was reading pretty low. Which is fine because the comparison of before and after the tune is what mattered, not final numbers.

I would say the weather was about 75-80 degree with alot of humidity during the tunning.

Larry might be taking the cars to slater's in cold weather just for consistancy of the numbers.

It was funny seeing all the people on the freeway, they would speed up to Larry's trailer and then slow down to check it out.
