OK folks
I remember seeing a thread on how to break in new pads and rotors. I cannot find it anywhere. Does anyone on here know where it might be?

Second question I run the Valvoline Synpower fluid in my brakes but I have been looking at the totally synthetic DOT 4 fluid. It states that it will NOT take on water and has a much higher boiling point than even the Synpower. What do you folks think??

he link does not work but I fond info on Brembo's site on break in. What do you think on the DOt 4 fluid??

I having been working all weekend putting in the springs and Tokicos as well as all new poly bushings. Probably goint to take the car to Beau to get the torque arm and pah hard installed and the chassis tuned.

Looking forward to seeing how your car does at CMP. Any chance of a ride sometime??

Hey Rick,

The Valvoline is great stuff.. I've never had a boiling problem (even at CMP last year). Not sure of the compatability of the Dot 4 with the seals in our braking systems.

Never had any problems with Motorcraft DOT 3. The stuff works very well, and it's cheap!

As for fluid, fresh Ford HD fluid is "one of" THE BEST, and THE CHEAPEST!!!
I have tried synthetics in DOT4 and DOT5... and the best bang for the buck is Ford HD. It has a 570'F dry and (forget wet, but something like 380'F). You change it within one week of the event, and it works very well on the track. MANY guys I know that run events will use that stuff. Unless you have a mega-sponsor and can afford the $75/quart stuff, go with the Ford HD.
